This week, Benton REA participated in the Washington Rural Electric Cooperative Association 2026 Energy Summit, joining electric cooperative leaders from across Washington to discuss the future of energy policy and the issues impacting our members.

Benton REA's Director of Energy Policy, Josh Lozano, joined WRECA contract lobbyist Nick Streuli for a session titled “Inside Washington: Policy, Politics & Strategy.” The discussion highlighted the importance of the current election cycle, key outcomes from the 2026 legislative session, and priorities heading into the 2027 session.

Thank you to WRECA for bringing together industry leaders and policymakers for an important conversation about maintaining safe, affordable, and reliable energy for the communities we serve.

We're excited to welcome Lynn Latendresse to Benton REA as our new Vice President of Energy and Finance.

Lynn brings more than 30 years of experience in the utility and energy industry, with an impressive background spanning public power, investor-owned utilities, and federal power systems. Throughout her career, she has held leadership roles with Bonneville Power Administration, Clark Public Utilities, Grays Harbor PUD, Portland General Electric, and Energy Northwest.

In her new role, Lynn will provide strategic leadership for power resource planning, financial planning and analysis, accounting, facilities, procurement, warehousing, and regulatory compliance. Her expertise in energy planning, financial stewardship, and utility operations will help support Benton REA's commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and affordable electric service to our members.
