This week was all about advancing our skills and sharpening critical interventions—diving deeper into ventilator management and hands-on training in finger thoracotomy. These are the moments that strengthen our teams, build confidence under pressure, and ultimately save lives when seconds count.
We’re proud to stand alongside such dedicated professionals who are committed to learning, growing, and pushing the standard of care higher every day!

🚁 Happy Critical Care Transport Nurses Day !! 🚁💙
Today, we proudly recognize the extraordinary critical care transport nurses of Air Evac—the calm in the chaos, the steady hands at altitude, and the heart behind every lifesaving mission.
Whether responding in the middle of the night, navigating complex medical emergencies, or providing expert care miles above the ground, these nurses bring skill, courage, and compassion to every patient they serve. Their ability to deliver ICU-level care in the most challenging environments is nothing short of remarkable.
From pre-hospital decision-making to seamless teamwork in flight, Air Evac nurses exemplify professionalism, resilience, and unwavering dedication. They don’t just transport patients—they deliver hope when it matters most.

Today, we had the honor of presenting flight wings that represent far more than a milestone—they mark the completion of a journey more than 20 years in the making.

In 2004, David Paul Lane’s life was forever changed by a catastrophic accident. The flight crew who responded that day became part of the fight that saved his life. After years of surgeries, rehabilitation, and unwavering determination, David returned to healthcare, completed nursing school, earned advanced critical care credentials, and pursued the path to flight nursing.

David joins the Air Evac family not as a patient, but as a flight nurse—serving on the very teams he once depended on. In a powerful and emotional full‑circle moment, his first set of wings was placed by the flight nurse who helped save his life, Doug Douglas.

Please join us in congratulating and welcome to the team David Paul Lane, Flight Nurse, NRP, on this extraordinary achievement!
