As we recognize Save-A-Life Day during EMS Week, we know the forecast may be bringing rain this week… but in Texas, heat safety information is never really out of season. ☔☀️

Prosper Fire Rescue encourages residents to stay mindful of heat-related illness as temperatures continue to rise heading into summer. Staying hydrated, taking breaks in the shade or air conditioning, and recognizing warning signs early can make a lifesaving difference.

Signs of heat-related illness can include:
• Dizziness or confusion
• Heavy sweating or hot, dry skin
• Nausea
• Rapid pulse
• Fainting

Never leave children or pets in a vehicle, even for a short period of time, and remember to check on elderly family members, neighbors and those more vulnerable to extreme heat.

Rain or shine, a few simple precautions can help save a life. 🚑

05/20/2026

In recognition of EMS for Children Day during EMS Week, we asked Town staff one simple question:

How many babies do you think Fire Chief Stuart Blasingame has delivered during his career? 👶🚑

The guesses may have been all over the place, but one thing is certain. EMS professionals are there for some of life’s biggest moments, including welcoming new lives into the world.

Thank you to the paramedics, EMTs and first responders of Prosper Fire Rescue for the care, compassion and dedication you show children and families throughout our community every day!
