The Prosper Police Department assisted federal, state, and local law enforcement partners during Operation Soteria Shield, a large-scale effort focused on identifying, investigating, and apprehending individuals involved in the exploitation of children.

The operation resulted in the arrest of 276 suspected offenders and the identification and recovery of 89 child victims. Prosper Police Department personnel supported investigative efforts aimed at protecting children from online exploitation and abuse.

Crimes against children remain among the most serious offenses investigated by law enforcement. Operations like Soteria Shield highlight the importance of collaboration between agencies to identify offenders, recover victims, and hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

The Prosper Police Department remains committed to protecting children, supporting victims, and working alongside our law enforcement partners to ensure offenders who exploit children are brought to justice.

This morning, the Prosper Police Department received a call from an unknown individual reporting a shooting at the Windsong Estates at Prosper Apartments.

Prosper Police Department officers and Prosper Fire Rescue personnel responded immediately and established a significant law enforcement presence in the area as a precaution. Following a thorough search of the apartment and surrounding area, authorities determined that the report was unfounded, and the apartment complex has been deemed safe.

At this time, there is no active threat to the public.

The Prosper Police Department would also like to remind the community about the serious dangers and consequences of swatting calls. These false reports can place residents, first responders, and law enforcement personnel at unnecessary risk while diverting critical resources away from genuine emergencies. Swatting is a criminal offense that carries severe penalties. We encourage everyone to refrain from participating in or promoting such actions and to help raise awareness about their impact on public safety.

🚨 STOP ON RED. SAVE A LIFE. 🚨

The Prosper Police Department is reminding all Commercial Motor Vehicle drivers and Motor Vehicle drivers that running red lights puts everyone in the Town of Prosper community at risk.

A single decision behind the wheel can change lives forever. Intersections are one of the most dangerous places on our roadways, and ignoring traffic signals endangers families, pedestrians, cyclists, and fellow motorists.

The Prosper Police Department Traffic Unit will be actively enforcing red light violations throughout town.

STOP ON RED. SAVE A LIFE.

Honoring Memorial Day 2026

This Memorial Day, the Prosper Police Department joins our community in honoring the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend-It is a time of a reflection, gratitude, and remembrance for those who gave their lives protecting the freedoms we enjoy every day. Their courage and selfishness will never be forgotten.

As we gather with family and friends, we encourage everyone to take a moment to remember our fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy.

From all of us at the Prosper Police Department, thank you, and may we never forget.
