Although the snow has passed, it is still important to remain weather-aware. Many nights this week are expected to be well below freezing, with wind chills making conditions even more dangerous.

Please ensure that any alternative heating sources are used strictly according to the manufacturer’s recommendations and kept a safe distance away from anything flammable. Never leave space heaters or open flames unattended.

It’s also important to keep a full tank of gas in your vehicle, as it may be needed as a temporary warming location if you become stranded. If you must run your vehicle for heat, always ensure the exhaust pipe is clear of snow and never run a vehicle inside a garage or enclosed space.

Additional cold-weather safety reminders:
• Make sure smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are working properly and have fresh batteries
• Dress in layers and limit time outdoors when possible
• Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone with limited mobility
• Keep emergency supplies in your vehicle, including blankets, food, water, and a phone charger

As always, if you or your family encounter a life-threatening situation or emergency, do not hesitate to call 911.

Please stay safe and take precautions during this extreme cold.

Please stay safe during the extreme cold temperatures. We are also expecting a significant amount of snowfall tomorrow.

As a fully volunteer fire department, we are proud of the dedication our members show to our community. If you encounter emergency crews responding to a call, please remember to slow down and move over to help keep everyone safe.

❄️ Winter Storm Safety Reminder ❄️

If you haven’t been keeping up with the forecast, a winter storm is expected to bring heavy snowfall to our area this weekend. As with any severe weather, taking a few extra precautions can go a long way in keeping you, your family, and our community safe.

Please continue to monitor local news outlets and county emergency management sources for the most up-to-date information, advisories, and safety guidance.

Stay safe, slow down, and be prepared.
