Prospect, CT Democrats The Prospect Democrats work to build a better Prospect today while looking to the future. All registered Democrats are welcome to attend our monthly meetings.

The Prospect Democratic Town Committee works to recruit and elect capable, qualified local Democrats to municipal offices and to make our town a better place by participating actively in its governance. We support local Democrats who wish to run for local office, serve on appointed Boards and Commissions, or work on campaigns for municipal, state, or federal candidates. ❄️ SNOWSTORM COSTS
-- Council approved an $85,373 budget transfer to cover snow removal, Public Works overtime, equipment repairs, and Town Hall repairs after burst pipes caused flooding.

🏛️ TOWN HALL REPAIRS
-- Heating system failure led to pipe bursts and water damage, requiring repairs and remediation.

📊 FINANCIAL UPDATE
-- Council received an improved General Fund spending report to help prepare for upcoming budget discussions.

🎓 PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
-- Approved $1,100 for the Town Clerk to attend training toward Certified Municipal Clerk certification.

đź’° GRANTS IN PROGRESS
-- The Town’s grant writer is pursuing funding for:
• McGrath Park walking trail 🌳
• Waterline infrastructure 🚰
• Community Center fitness equipment 🏋️
• Road safety and traffic studies 🚦

-- Ben Fidanza appointed Alternate Member to the Inland Wetlands Commission

Funds were proposed for:
• Town Hall repairs
• Road salt
• Tires & vehicle parts
• Tax collector fees
Council requested clearer account balances before approving.

❌ $446.76 Registrar Transfer – DENIED
Council asked for clarification before approving reimbursement.
