The Prospect Heights Police Department had an absolute blast participating in the Betsy Ross School tug-of-war event!
Our officers came ready to compete and made sure to take home the bragging rights against the teachers. But we have to admit… the 2nd and 3rd graders gave us a serious challenge! Those students brought the energy and beat us.
Thank you to Betsy Ross School for inviting us to such a fun community event. We always enjoy connecting with our amazing students, teachers, and families!

Congrats Sergeant Farina!
Please join us in congratulating Sergeant Tyler Farina on his promotion to the rank of Sergeant with the Prospect Heights Police Department.
Sergeant Farina’s promotion reflects years of dedication, professionalism, leadership, and unwavering commitment to both the department and the community. Since beginning his career with the Prospect Heights Police Department in 2016 as a weekend desk officer and becoming a sworn police officer in 2019, he has continually distinguished himself as a proactive officer, respected mentor, and leader within the organization.
Throughout his career, Sergeant Farina has served in numerous important roles, including Field Training Officer, Officer in Charge/Corporal, Fi****ms Instructor, member of the Gang Intelligence Team, and Certified Gang Specialist. His contributions to officer training and proactive enforcement efforts have played a significant role in enhancing public safety within the community.
Among his many accomplishments, Sergeant Farina was named Prospect Heights Police Officer of the Year in 2022 and has been part of the department’s Patrol Squad of the Year for the past three consecutive years.
We would also like to recognize and thank Sergeant Farina’s family for their continued support throughout his law enforcement career.
Congratulations again to Sergeant Tyler Farina on this well-earned promotion. We wish him continued success as he begins this next chapter of leadership.

Coffee With PHPD Event
Thank you to everyone who joined us for our recent “Coffee with PHPD” community engagement event at the Rob Roy Clubhouse!
The event gave residents an opportunity to meet with members of the police department, learn more about our operations, hear updates and department news, discuss current crime trends, and learn crime prevention tips and resources. Most importantly, it allowed us to answer questions and engage in open, positive conversations with members of our community.
We were extremely pleased with the great turnout and truly appreciate everyone who took the time to attend. Building strong relationships with our residents through communication, transparency, and collaboration remains one of our top priorities.
Thank you for the many positive interactions and meaningful discussions throughout the event. We look forward to continuing these conversations and seeing everyone again at future community events!
