The playground is open again after resurfacing took place last week! Thank you to those who were so patiently waiting to play on the playground!!

Update 9/19. The playground will be CLOSED through the weekend, reopening Tuesday September 24. ANY use -including simply walking on the surface will ruin the entire surface. Please abide by the closure notice.

We have just been notified that the playground will be under construction for re-surfacing beginning MONDAY SEPTEMBER 16.

Therefore the playground will be closed and unavailable all of next week.

It will be important for everyone to stay off the playground during this time for safety reasons as well as maintaining the integrity of the surface work being done. Walking on it for any reason will ruin the surfacing.

Thank you for your understanding. We will notify the community when the playground is available after the e work is done and time has passed for the surface to cure.

Good evening. I just wanted to make community members and families aware that at some point after Labor Day, the playground will be closed for about five days.

As some of you may have noticed, the surface has deteriorated in a couple different spots. This is due to the strange fall and early winter we had in 2023, with a pattern of freezing and thawing that caused some rippling in the surface much like heaving that happens to pavement.

The surfacing company has warrantied this work, and we had an opportunity to do the work at the beginning of summer-but it was right when school was getting out and with zero notice, so we made the decision to put it off until the kids went back to school. I couldn’t imagine summer break starting and having our favorite playground closed.

I just wanted to give everyone a heads up as you make plans for playing and gatherings, as I know some families have used the playground as a birthday party spot. I don’t know when exactly this will take place, as it is weather and labor dependent. But I will make sure to let you know the exact dates that the playground will be off-limits to all activity

I hope that you’ve had a wonderful summer playing at the playground. As you may have noticed, the city has provided a paved area for vehicles to use, with the priority being for children who need paved areas for wheelchair accessibility. I believe these areas will be marked as such within a short period of time.

Another volunteer opportunity so we can get this playground finished and open to the public!!

THIS Friday. 3-7pm.

Raking under playground. I need to make sure all high areas are raked level.

Bring: metal rake. Spade shovel. Work gloves. Water bottle. Work clothes. Wheelbarrow if you have one.

Surfacing goes in next week. I would love the help to get this done. It may not take the whole time if I have enough people.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

The start came when Jennifer McDonald’s daughter Emma went to regular parks. With Spina Bifida, she could get to a playground using her walker...
