This week during their weekly GPS (Growth Produces Success) lesson, our students learned about Spread the Word: Inclusion Day, a nationwide campaign that encourages respectful language and promotes inclusion for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Students had the opportunity to take the pledge to use kind language and help create a more inclusive school community. They also learned about Unified opportunities at the middle school level, including Unified Advisory and Unified Club, which bring students together with and without disabilities to build friendships and lead inclusion in our school.

Check out this video to see how Twin Oaks is creating inclusive opportunities for students through Unified programs!

Our Unified team finished 4th at state today! This team played hard but more importantly, they were always models for inclusion, teamwork and sportsmanship. We have a lot to be proud of because of this group of students. Be sure to congratulate them on a great first season if you see them next week!
