The Landing Youth and Tutoring Center The Landing Youth and Tutoring Center exists for the enrichment, mentoring, and education of middle school and high school students.

We are open every Wednesday & Thursday from 3:30pm to 6:00pm. Join us for homework help, a meal and some fun! • Who: Open to Middle and High School students

We recently had the opportunity to take a group of students on a field trip to Kings Auto!

This was a great opportunity for students to get a behind the scenes look at how a automotive repair shop operates.

They also got a chance to hear about what a career as an automotive mechanic may look like.

At The Landing we get to offer monthly field trips for middle and high schoolers. Stop by The Landing or contact us to get more information or to get involved!

The first month of The Landing is in the bag! We have been having  between 15 and 20 students each day. We are super excited to see consistent numbers even after changing the days we are open from Tuesday and Wednesday to Wednesday and Thursday. We are continuing to get the word out and look forward to seeing who else joins us this year!

As the school year progresses we are starting  to work on scheduling classes that we can offer students. Our goal is to provide students the opportunity to take a class each month and learn something new. Whether that be baking, automotive skills, gardening, etc.  Be on the lookout for more information coming soon!

The Landing is back!

We are so excited to be able to continue serving the youth of Prineville this school year! We have made a few changes and will be open every Wednesday and Thursday from 3:30 to 6:00 this year. We will no longer be open on Tuesdays.

Middle and High schoolers are welcome to join us to get help with homework, a free meal or even to just hangout and play games!

If you didn't know The Landing, is a non-profit after school program that happens every Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:30 to 6:00. Our goal is to give students a safe place to go after school, where they can get a free meal, participate in free activities and work on or get help with their homework! We are able to offer this to students entirely for free! This is crucial as many of the students we are trying to reach come from very difficult home lives.

In order to continue doing this we need to raise a minimum of $4,000.

That’s a wrap! We made it through another year of The Landing! This last year we saw an increase in students who took advantage of the services that we provide. We are so excited to continue to see students come and enjoy what we are providing. We saw an average of forty five different students attend each week!

The Landing is only able to happen because of our phenomenal volunteer staff! As we continue to grow we continue to need more people who are willing to volunteer their time. Our goal this summer is to recruit SIX new volunteers. If you are interested in helping at The Landing, please join us at 6:00pm on July 31st at First Baptist Church, to hear more about what it looks like to volunteer at The Landing.

Last year we were extremely blessed to have Eric Rice from Kings Auto come to The Landing and talk to students about cars and what it’s like to be a mechanic.

Tomorrow students will have the opportunity to go on a field trip and get a tour of the Kings Auto facility!

Students can sign up at The Landing either today or tomorrow! Students must fill out a waiver! We will leave from The Landing at 5:00 and be back by 6:00!
