💙 Today, we’re celebrating some pretty amazing women!

In honor of National Police Woman Day, we’re recognizing Officer Bottoms, Officer Ceja, Officer Jerome and Officer Miller. Each of these ladies brings something special to Prineville PD, and we’re grateful for the heart, strength and dedication they bring to the job every day.

We couldn’t be prouder to have these four representing our department and serving the community we all love. Ladies, thank you for choosing to serve Prineville. We’re lucky to have you!

Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, the families forever changed, and the first responders who ran toward danger when others were running away.

25 years later, we continue to honor their courage, sacrifice and service. May we never forget those we lost, those who answered the call, and the way our nation stood together in the days that followed.

Today is about celebrating the hardworking people who make our community what it is. Whether you’re enjoying a day off or heading into work, we hope you have a safe and relaxing Labor Day. More than 2.2 million acres have burned across Oregon this fire season, with hundreds of thousands of those acres right here in and around Crook County. But these aren't just numbers on a map. They're places we call home, land families have cared for generations and communities that have spent days surrounded by smoke, evacuations and uncertainty.

Through it all, we've witnessed something stronger than the fires, people taking care of people. Neighbors helping neighbors, businesses stepping up, strangers opening their doors and first responders working tirelessly to protect the communities they call home, too. To everyone who has fought these fires, supported those on the front lines or helped a neighbor through a difficult day, thank you.

Through the smoke, the uncertainty and the difficult days, one thing has remained clear. Crook County takes care of its own. ❤️

Our officers were recently called to assist with a turkey on the loose.

Was it cooperative? Absolutely not.
Did it respect our authority? Also no.
Did our training cover turkey negotiations? Surprisingly, no. 😂

Charges include:
• Fowl play
• Evading officers
• Disorderly gobbling
• Failure to cooperate
• Being suspiciously delicious this close to Thanksgiving
