As an organization that is committed to serving our immediate community and extended fire district with DISTINCTION, PRIDE, and PROFESSIONALISM, we delight in being proactive in that we don't wait for things to unfold before responding. With advanced training and the latest modern equipment, we stand ready at all times. Yet, it is our greatest desire to not have to put the training and equipment to use tonight while meeting you personally on the scene of a traumatic event.

With that being said out of care and concern, the chief, the command staff, officers and personnel of Princeville Fire Department encourage you to please be cautious and prudent. However you choose to bring in the New Year is your prerogative. Yet, your privileges and rights don't excuse you from RESPONSIBILITY and ACCOUNTABILITY. In celebrating, please be safe!!!

Please help us wish our very own Public Relations/Information Officer & Chaplain, Alvin Lafon Jones, a very special Happy Birthday!

We appreciate your insight and wisdom on the spiritual, social, and operational readiness of the department. You are one of the most didactical men we know often sharing your knowledge, wisdom, and life experiences to help someone else. Because of YOU, we continue to stay rooted and grounded in faith and love. You are educated, very articulate and strategic. You often take the opportunity to share with the personnel at the station that committing to give of themselves to save lives and property is good, but the greatest decision they can ever make is giving their life to Christ because that's when purposeful living truly begins. You are a true asset, ALWAYS willing and ready to go beyond the call of duty to serve.

So again, on behalf of Princeville Fire Department, Inc., I would like to thank you for your continued presence and service. Happiest of birthdays! 🎂🎉

Princeville Fire Chief, officers, and personnel responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident near exit 490. Princeville Fire Department had an apparatus enroute within three minutes of the call being dispatched.

Upon arrival, we discovered the accident involved a car versus a bear. The occupants of the vehicle reported no injuries, though the vehicle sustained major damage. Edgecombe County EMS and Edgecombe County Sheriff's Office were on scene as well.

As Chaplain of Princeville Fire Department, I am ecstatically elated to recoginze the hard work, commitment and dedication of Chief Kermit Perkins, Deputy Chief Larry Stovepipe Harris, the command staff, officers and personnel of Princeville Fire Department.

After several months of preparing for the ISO audit conducted by the Office of the State Fire Marshall, Princeville Fire Department achieved a significant accomplishment signifying great progression that can be objectively measured based on facts and not opinions or bias that shed light on this department's continued success.

The official results of the ISO audit show that Princeville Fire Department received a rating of "4" with a few fractions of a point from "3." Several areas were graded to include the number of certified personnel, water supply, apparatuses and equipment, training of the personnel, alarm & dispatch which looks at the response time of the fire department. We've always been proud to have one of the fastest response time in Edgecombe County.

An ISO rating of "4" means the fire department and its equipment/personnel are rated highly. It signifies that the capabilities and infrastructure of the department are good. This should be indicative to the community that the fire department is well-prepared, well-equipped, and capable of responding effectively to emergencies. A lower ISO rating also translates to lower insurance premiums for homeowners and businesses, benefiting the entire community. In terms of economic growth, this rating can attract businesses as well.

Please join me in celebrating Chief Perkins, Deputy Chief Harris, the command staff, officers and personnel of Princeville Fire Department for a job well done in obtaining an ISO rating of a "4."

Regularly scheduled training is counted among the core values here at Princeville Fire Department. To ensure that we provide the highest level of service to our community, training is provided that consistently maintains and enhances the knowledge, skills, and abilities of our members to ensure that we can provide the very best service possible to our community.

This morning, the first group of personnel trained on the proper use of extrication tools with the objective of mastering techniques for removing doors, roofs, and other vehicle components to access trapped occupants while focusing on scene safety, vehicle stabilization, tool operation, and patient care.

The Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, command staff, officers and personnel are committed to providing advanced hands-on practical training focused on best practices, up-to-date techniques, and latest equipment which keeps us positioned to continue serving our community in a spirit of excellence.

In anticipation of yesterday's inclement weather, Chief K. Permits, Deputy Chief Larry Harris, the command staff, officers and personnel of PVFD methodically reviewed our response strategy in preparation for the possible aftermath of the severe weather. Here at Princeville Fire Department, we subscribe to the six P's:

PROPER PLANNED PREPARATION PREVENTS POOR PERFORMANCE!

While we hoped and prayed for the best, we were not naive by failing to prepare for the worst.
