Every note in this song is a call answered.

"Two Mount Lucas Road" is our story โ€” but PFARS runs on your support. 3,500 calls a year. 24/7/365. All made possible by donors like you.

If this music moves you, we'd be honored if you'd help fund the squad behind it.

๐Ÿฆ Yes, there will be ice cream.

A huge thank you to our neighbors at the bent spoon for donating ice cream for the PFARS Community Open House on June 14.

If you've lived in Princeton for more than five minutes, you already know the bent spoon is the best ice cream in town. If you haven't tried it yet, this is your chance. Free with every visit to the Open House (while supplies last).

๐ŸŽต "Two Mount Lucas Road."

We wrote a song. About our station. About our crew. About what it means to show up โ€” every day, every call, every season.

Take a listen.

๐Ÿš‘ The doors are open on June 14.
Not because someone called. Because we asked the community to come close.
Bring the kids. Bring your neighbors. Climb on the Heavy Rescue truck. Eat ice cream from The Bent Spoon. Meet the people who answer the call.

๐Ÿš‘ Federal reimbursement policy doesn't usually make for compelling Facebook content. But it's the thing that determines whether community EMS agencies like PFARS can keep operating the way Princeton expects us to.
Two things happened in Washington this month that matter:
The federal government proposed new limits on how much Medicaid can pay for ambulance services starting in 2029. And a bipartisan bill was reintroduced in Congress that would, for the first time, let Medicare pay EMS agencies for treating patients on scene without transporting them โ€” which is what we do every day for many of our patients without getting paid for it.
Both items are in early stages. Neither changes anything tomorrow. But together they describe the financial reality community EMS agencies are operating inside.
We wrote a longer piece on what these two policy moves mean for the future of community EMS. If the funding model behind 9-1-1 is something you've ever wondered about, this one's worth a read.

We close EMS Week by honoring those who gave everything in service to others.

EMS Remembrance Day recognizes the EMTs, paramedics, and rescue professionals who lost their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice reminds us why this work matters and why we train, prepare, and show up every single day.

To our members, our partners at the Princeton Fire Department and Princeton Police Department, and EMS professionals everywhere: thank you.

To the Princeton community: we've been here since 1939, and we're not going anywhere. Your support makes this mission possible.

PFARS is approximately 75% career staff and 25% volunteer, and both sides of that equation are essential.

Our volunteers serve as EMTs on the ambulance, technical rescue operators, and members of our leadership team. Many started with zero medical experience and earned their EMT certification through our training program.

Our career team provides the around-the-clock backbone that a community of 30,000+ residents depends on.

We're always looking for people who want to make a real difference in their community. No experience necessary. We'll train you.
