Salary:
Recruit: $47,403.20
Certified Lateral: $49,774.40 – $64,001.60 (based on experience)
Retired Officer: $64,001.60
(Salary does not include $4653 KLEFPF incentive pay)

Minimum Qualifications:
21 years of age at time of graduation from academy
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Valid KY Operators License
Legally Possess a Fi***rm within State and Federal Laws
No Prior Felony Convictions
No Emergency Protective Orders or Domestic Violence Orders
Honorable Discharge or General Discharge with Honorable Conditions if prior Military
Pass the KY Peace Officers Professional Standards Examinations, Physical Agility Examination, Drug Screen, Polygraph and Background Examination
Successfully complete 20 Week Department of Criminal Justice Training Basic Academy.

The Princeton Police Department is trying to find out any information about the owner of this truck. On 06/10/2026, this truck struck a vehicle in the Captain Ds parking lot and fled the scene. SCAM ALERT
The Princeton Police Department has received reports that local businesses are being contacted by individuals falsely claiming to represent local law enforcement agencies.
In these calls, the scammer provides what appears to be a legitimate case number and claims that counterfeit currency has been passed at the business. The caller then instructs employees to take cash from the business to a Dollar General Store for verification. Employees are sent a barcode to their cellphone and directed to have it scanned at the register, after which they are instructed to provide the cash to the cashier.
In reality, this process transfers the funds directly to the scammer’s account and the money is often unrecovered.
These individuals may possess information that makes them seem credible; such as, employee’s names, business owner’s names, or other details about the business. This information is used to convince the employee’s that the call is legitimate.
The Princeton Police Department does not conduct investigations in this manner and will never instruct businesses or individuals to transfer money, purchase gift cards, scan barcodes, or send funds as part of an investigation.
Anyone who receives such a call should immediately hang up and contact the Princeton Police Department through dispatch, (270) 365-2041.
Please share this information to help protect local businesses and employees from becoming a victim of fraud.
