What an inspiring evening at the Princeton Battlefield Society's Cadwalader Lecture Series!

We were honored to welcome Dr. Michael A. Blaakman of Princeton University, who shared insights from his acclaimed exhibition, Princeton: A Nursery of Rebellion, exploring the town's pivotal role in the American Revolution.

The evening was made even more special by a generous gift from the Daughters of the American Revolution in support of our Memorial Grove, dedicated in memory of our dear friend and steadfast supporter, Paul Kelley. We are deeply grateful for their commitment to preserving the Battlefield and honoring those who helped safeguard its future.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for a memorable night celebrating history, scholarship, and community.

Tonight, we proudly celebrate Lorna Hainesworth, recipient of the 2026 Mercer Oak Award.

A generous benefactor of the Princeton Battlefield Society and a steadfast supporter of Experience the Battle of Princeton, Lorna has dedicated herself to preserving and promoting the history of the American Revolution. Her philanthropic efforts have benefited numerous Revolutionary War sites and organizations across the country, including the Princeton Battlefield.

As we approach our Nation’s 250th Anniversary, it is especially fitting to recognize Lorna’s commitment to ensuring that the stories of our founding continue to educate and inspire future generations.

On this Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

At Princeton Battlefield, history surrounds us and reminds us that freedom has always carried a cost. While the stories told here begin in the Revolutionary era, the spirit of service and sacrifice has continued through every generation of Americans who answered the call.

Today, we remember those who never returned home and honor their enduring legacy.

Today, Princeton Battlefield Society was honored to welcome New Jersey Lieutenant Governor Dr. Dale G. Caldwell to the Princeton Battlefield for a special tour with PBS and the American Battlefield Trust.

His visit highlighted the importance of preserving this historic landscape and sharing the story of the Battle of Princeton with future generations.

We are grateful for the continued interest and support in protecting one of New Jersey’s most significant Revolutionary War sites.

This Mother’s Day, we honor the women whose strength carried families, communities, and a new nation through uncertain times.

Behind every soldier, patriot, farmer, and statesman of the Revolutionary era were mothers who sacrificed, endured, waited, mourned, and persevered. Many of their stories were never written into the history books, but their impact shaped the world around them nonetheless.

Today, we remember the mothers of the Revolution and all those who nurture, guide, protect, and inspire across generations.

Happy Mother’s Day from all of us at Princeton Battlefield Society. 🌿
