Last weekend, Princeton residents and visitors came together for a great time at the Block Party at Post Office Place!

Officer Robert Sargood and Officer Diego De Souza were brave enough to take their turn in the dunk tank and definitely got their share of time in the water! Meanwhile, Recruit Officers Joyce Aliaga and Thomas Moore manned the Princeton Police Department tent and had a chance to meet and talk with members of the community.

Officer Emily Casella also stopped by while working patrol and managed to squeeze in a game of co****le with some of the kids!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, said hello, and helped make the Block Party such a fun community event. We always enjoy opportunities to get out, have some fun, and spend time with the people we serve!

***UPDATE*** Construction has been proponed. No work will be done next week, we will keep you updated as we get more information.

🚧 CONSTRUCTION TRAFFIC DELAY – WORCESTER ROAD 🚧

Please plan for traffic delays on Worcester Road next week as road paving gets underway.

Paving is scheduled to begin Monday, August 31st, with work taking place from approximately 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Motorists should expect delays, reduced travel speeds, and possible temporary lane restrictions while crews are working.

Please use caution when traveling through the work zone and allow yourself a little extra time.

Thank you for your patience as this work is completed, and please help keep the road crews safe!

🎓 SERGEANT McGUINNESS EARNS FBI-LEEDA TRILOGY AWARD! 👏

We’re proud to share some great news from the Princeton Police Department!

Sergeant William “Bill” McGuinness has earned the prestigious FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) Trilogy Award, a nationally recognized achievement in law enforcement leadership.

Earning the Trilogy Award is no small accomplishment. To receive it, Sgt. McGuinness successfully completed all three of FBI-LEEDA’s advanced leadership programs:

🔹 Supervisor Leadership Institute
🔹 Command Leadership Institute
🔹 Executive Leadership Institute

These programs bring law enforcement professionals together from across the country and focus on topics such as ethical leadership, community engagement, organizational effectiveness, emotional intelligence, and building stronger public safety organizations.

For our community, accomplishments like this matter. Continued training helps our officers and supervisors bring new ideas, stronger leadership skills, and valuable experience back home to Princeton.

COMMUNITY ASSISTANCE REQUESTED

The Princeton Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance regarding a motor vehicle incident that occurred on August 12, 2026, at approximately 7:30 PM, in the area of 42 Ball Hill Road.

A gray SUV reportedly struck and damaged a stone wall at this location. At this time, we do not have any additional identifying information regarding the vehicle.

We also know that a green pickup truck stopped a few minutes later and appeared to assist the operator of the SUV. We would especially like to speak with the operator or occupants of that pickup, as they may have information that could assist with our investigation.

We are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, observed the vehicle in the area, or has any information regarding what occurred to please contact us.

We understand that an incident such as this may not seem significant to everyone. However, when a member of our community has their property damaged, it matters to us. We take these reports seriously and make every reasonable effort to investigate the incidents reported to our department.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Officer Robert Sargood at [email protected].

Even information that may seem minor could be helpful in identifying the vehicle involved.

Thank you for your assistance and for continuing to look out for one another in our community.

We got a sneak peek at what’s happening behind the gates of the new Princeton Public Safety Building project, and things are moving fast!

As you can see, work on the foundation is already underway. It’s exciting to watch the progress as this important project begins to take shape.

As we approach the 10th anniversary of the tragic loss of Vanessa Marcotte, the members of the Princeton Police Department stand with Vanessa's family, friends, and all those who continue to honor her memory.

Ten years ago, Vanessa's life was taken in a senseless act of violence while visiting our community. Though a decade has passed, she is not forgotten. We remember her with respect, compassion, and a continued commitment to the safety of our community.

We also recognize and commend the incredible work of the Vanessa T. Marcotte Foundation, whose mission of empowering others through personal safety education and violence prevention continues to make a meaningful impact. Their dedication ensures that Vanessa's legacy lives on by helping build safer, stronger communities.

On this anniversary, we encourage our community to join us in remembering Vanessa and keeping her family and loved ones in our thoughts. May we continue to honor her life by looking out for one another and working together to prevent violence.

🚧 Traffic Advisory 🚧

Update: Road work will be continuing the 27th and 28th from 7:00am to 5:00pm.

Please be advised that road construction and paving operations will be taking place Tuesday, July 21, through Friday, July 24, between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., on portions of East Princeton Road and Worcester Road.

Motorists should expect temporary traffic delays and are encouraged to use caution when traveling through the work zone. Please follow all posted signs, traffic control personnel, and reduced speed limits to help keep both workers and the traveling public safe.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation while these roadway improvements are completed.
