*Search Warrant leads to drug arrests*

After a lengthy drug investigation, members of the Princeton Police Department executed a Search Warrant on a residence on Road House Road in Princeton. Located inside the residence were several grams of Fentanyl, Co***ne, Methamphetamine along with several illegal doses of Gabapentin and Suboxone. Items seized also included approximately $300 and three (3)firearms, with one of them being stolen and one being a replica.

Jerry Cecil and Amber Stanley (pictured) were arrested and charged with numerous counts of Possession with Intent to Deliver along with other charges.

This is just another example of how the Princeton Police Department works tirelessly to rid communities of dangerous drugs and the people that want to commit crimes in our neighborhoods.

Princeton Police Department Community Outreach

Today, Patrolman A.E. Epperson, the Princeton Police Department's certified D.A.R.E. Officer, had the opportunity to visit the kindergarten classes at Princeton Primary School to discuss the importance of stranger safety.

During the presentation, Officer Epperson spoke with students about recognizing potentially dangerous situations, the importance of staying with trusted adults, and what to do if approached by a stranger. The students were engaged, asked great questions, and demonstrated an excellent understanding of the safety concepts discussed.

The Princeton Police Department is committed to building positive relationships with our youth and providing educational opportunities that help keep our children safe both at school and in the community.

We would like to thank the staff and students at Princeton Primary School for welcoming Officer Epperson into their classrooms today.

Working together to keep our community safe—one lesson at a time.

**Press Release - Murder Investigation**

On May 11th, 2026 members of the Princeton Police Department responded to 218 Reed Street in Princeton in reference to an unattended death. During the course of this investigation, they located the victim, John Walker Jr deceased, showing apparent signs of a struggle and knife wounds. At that point the investigation was turned over to our Criminal Investigation Bureau.

It was later determined that the victims vehicle had also been stolen from the residence. Hours later, the victims vehicle was located in the Brush Creek Falls Road area of Mercer County, fully engulfed in flames.

Through nonstop investigative work over the course of the following 72 hours, two (2) suspects were developed through video surveillance. Those identities were then confirmed by officers familiar with them.

Michael Chapman and David Bishop both of Princeton, were identified. Both were located and arrested within hours of the identification.

Both Chapman and Bishop were charged with the following: 1st Degree Murder, 3rd Degree Arson, Grand Larceny and Conspiracy.

This is still an ongoing investigation with separate crime scenes several miles apart. We ask that anyone that may have video surveillance on Brush Creek Falls Road or surrounding area to check their cameras and report anything they feel may be related to this case.

If anyone has information regarding this investigation, contact the Princeton Police front office at (304) 487-5000 - lead investigator Detective Corporal D. Gibson.
