MARK YOUR CALENDARS!
JUNE 13th at 2:00 p.m.
at the PRINCETON RAILROAD MUSEUM
for SATURDAY HISTORY AT THE MUSEUM
A Special FREE Event Featuring:
• The book: Coach Lee Patton, The Untold Legend
• Website: CoachLeePatton.com
• The author, Bill Yearout, and Lee Patton's granddaughter, Carolyn Gordon, will be at the Princeton Railroad Museum to discuss the book and share stories about Lee, Agnes, Ann, and Laura Lee Patton, their friends, Lee's players, plus life in Princeton during the Great Depression and WW2. The book features lots of Princeton families.
• The story winds its way from a Texas railroad camp to Arizona to Massachusetts to Princeton, WV to Morgantown, where Coach Patton launched WVU's Golden Age of Basketball before his tragic death in 1950.
• As a coach, Lee Patton set records at PHS and WVU that remain unbroken, yet he was far more than a great coach. Lee Patton was a catalyst, an example, a beloved neighbor who inspired Princetonians to aim high and shoot straight.
• Time: Author's talk (about 35 minutes) is followed by Q & A plus time as needed for purchasing and book signing.
Notes:
• The paperback version (scheduled for release in May) may be purchased in advance via Amazon or in person at the event. E-Book versions will be released around the same time on Amazon, Apple, and Kobo.
• Author is happy to sign books purchased in advance.
• On February 10, 2025, BlueGoldNews.com rated Lee Patton number one among WVU's top ten basketball coaches of all time.
