Michael J Ice – For the past 12 years, he has been honored to serve the public as a member of the North Gibson School Board (NGSC) of Trustees as the Washington Township representative. Mike has lived in the Mt. Olympus area his entire life. Being a member of the board is one way he strives to make a positive difference in our community. He takes pride in keeping NGSC fiscally sound while empowering students in their academic achievement and extracurricular programs. He has a dedicated passion for the success of the agriculture, FFA and technical skills programs at NGSC. He is appreciative of the support and engagement of the community throughout his tenure to date.

Mike is a graduate of Princeton Community High School, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. While serving in the USAF, he learned the auto mechanic’s trade. This training led to a career of self-employment working on various types of vehicles.

During his terms as a NGSV member, he has worked to progress from a Level 1 to Level 4 Exemplary Honor Roll Board member by the Indiana State Board Association Certified Awards Program (CAP). This award honors individuals with acknowledging active participation at conferences, region meetings, retreats, monthly and executive meetings. Along with his individual award, he is part of the distinguished North Gibson School Board of Trustees recognized for three consecutive years as an Exemplary level by the Indiana State School Board Association. Over the years, he has served as board president, vice president and on multiple committees.

Mike is also a dedicated NGSC school bus driver of over 30 years. He is a member of the Indiana School Bus Drivers Association. Keeping students safe while having in-depth knowledge of the laws and regulations that govern transportation is another of his strengths.

Community involvement has played a major role in Mike’s life. In September 2023, he assisted in reorganization the Union Community Volunteer Fire Department for the betterment of the community. He currently serves on this board as president. Mike’s involvement has spanned over many years with work on fire departments, community boards, 4H and hobby clubs. His participation on the Mt. Olympus Community Center board as helped preserve the Mt. Olympus Gym within the district of North Gibson School Corporation. He is active in the Mt. Olympus Lions Club, honorary member of the Gibson County Antique Machinery Club and lifetime member of the Thresherman Park Antique Club. He spent many years assisting the Gibson County 4-H program in many capacities and responsibilities both with livestock and hands on projects. His sense of civic duty has never stopped growing.

He has been successful under the leadership of two exceptional Superintendents while working on major school improvement projects. The expansion of the Princeton Community Primary School, contribution to the YMCA transformation and Gil Hodges baseball field to name a few. He looks forward to continuing collaboration with other board members in the future expansion of the Tiger Fieldhouse, superintendent’s office, sports facility, restoration of the PCMS parking lot, walking path and other needed improvements.

Lynn A. Rowe graduated from Mitchell High School in 1972, Oakland City University in 1976 with B.S. degree in a double major of health and physical education and math education, and University of Evansville in 1980 with a M.A. degree in education. She married Bob Rowe in 1976 and together they have 3 sons Daniel, Adam, and Jacob with 4 granddaughters and 3 grandsons. She taught 42 years at Fort Branch Community School and spent 4 years as a co-president of the South Gibson Teachers Association. She also served on many and various committees as well as coach of volleyball, basketball, and track. She has been a member of the East Gibson School Board for the past 4 years where she now serves as secretary. During her tenure on the Board several positive changes have occurred including but not limited to the following:

1. Pre-School started for 3 and 4 year olds
2. Leadership of our buildings has become stable
3. Ambassador Program has started
4. Construction class has been added to the curriculum
5. Multi-categorical classrooms have been developed
6. A 5-year strategic academic plan has been put into place
7. A facilities study has begun to place repairs and renovations on a 3, 5, or 10-year plan

My vision for East Gibson School Corporation is to continue to take the appropriate steps in order to continue with the positive progress we as a corporation have made to prepare our students for whatever walk of life they may choose after graduation.

Amy M. Bingham is a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, community member, and experience school board leader seeking her third term on the School Board for District 2 of White River Township.
Amy has proudly served on the school board for nearly eight years and has remained committed to making decisions that put students, families, and the future of the community first. As a stay-at-home wife of 15 years to Tim Bingham, as well as a devoted mother and grandmother, Amy understands firsthand the importance of strong schools, safe environments, and opportunities for every student to succeed. She is the proud mother of four children – Michelle Hertel, Timothy Bingham, James “JW,” and Keith Garrett. My name is Thomas E. Wilkison, but most of the time I am known as Eddie. I live in Buckskin and am currently the Barton Township Trustee. I have lived in Buckskin my entire life. I attended school at Barton Township Elementary School and graduated from Wood Memorial High School. I am married to the former Pamela S. Gideon, who drives a school bus for the East Gibson School Corporation. We have two daughters, Manessa and Rebecca. We also have 3 beautiful granddaughters. I enjoy attending my granddaughters’ school events. We attend the Mackey Church of the Nazarene. I have worked for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 28 years. My current position is HT 1 construction inspector. I am also a substitute bus driver for the East Gibson School Corp. I, and my wife, enjoy living in a small town and being able to help our neighbors whether it is shoveling snow or repairing something. I enjoy meeting new people, which I get to do as Trustee. As trustee I try to accommodate applicants for township assistance by working around any schedules that they may have and explaining the process to them. We also provide referrals to other organizations if we feel they would be of help to the applicant. My main goal is to help others to help themselves.

Tim Schurmeier – Candidate for Gibson County Recorder

I would appreciate your support to be re-elected to the Office of Gibson County Recorder. A lifelong resident of Gibson County, my wife of 47 years Cheryl and I are the proud parents of four children: Melissa, Kimberly, Mark, and Kelsey. For more than 46 years, I owned and worked as an abstracter at Gibson County Abstract & Title Co. in Princeton. This background gave me great knowledge into the recorder’s role. During those years, I researched land titles across Gibson, Pike, Knox, Posey, Vanderburgh, Sullivan, Crawford, Spencer, Vigo, Greene, and several other Indiana and Illinois counties. This work allowed me to become well acquainted with recorder offices, and I witnessed firsthand the role of recorder. Gibson County has gone from hand-indexing land records to using computers to protect the integrity of the records – some of which date back to the year 1813. Today, public access is now available online and documents can even be submitted for recording online. The greatest improvement in the office; however, has been the implementation of the archiving and protection processes…processes that we continue today. We are currently in the process of digital imaging subdivision plats in order to protect the records. Archiving plats, deeds, mortgages, and all other records ensure the protection of records from fires and other disasters...Gibson County records are backed up multiple times both in various physical forms and online. I hope to continue using the knowledge I have attained throughout the years to continue maintaining the efficiency and integrity of our office and preserve the multiple records. If re-elected, I vow to ensure documents meet state and local requirements, maintain the authenticity of public records, continue majority same day recording documentation, maintain the protection of all documents, and continue saving taxpayers money by maintaining the same office budget that I started with when first elected in2023. Your support in this election would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
