In accordance with KRS 441.064 the Kentucky Department of Corrections conducted its first of 2 inspections of our facility on May 28th. On June 1st the Director, Division of Local Facilities issued their report informing our facility that no items of non-compliance were documented during the inspection process and extended our staff a congratulations on this accomplishment.

Things are starting to livin up at the community garden. Crews today got the cucumber trellis’s installed, seeded a large area of sweet corn, and planted more live plants. Planting is almost complete with a large number of seeded plants starting to take off……now we wait 🌱

A huge part in keeping this facility safe is the solid working relationship we share with our local law enforcement. Thanks to their efforts the Princeton Police Department were able to stop drugs from crossing our threshold. Too often in most every correctional facility work crews are used to introduce contraband from the outside. We are grateful to those who were able to intercept this ill conceived plan and charges were filed on its conspirators.

Last summer we tried something different with this small piece of dirt in our parking lot. We planted an urban pollination bed. It produced some stunning colors with a variety of zinnias and sunflowers. After drying the seed and storing them we hope to again this year bring some color to the downtown area.
