UPDATE: Police Make Arrest in Domestic-Related Shooting

The Prince George County Police Department is providing an update to a domestic-related shooting on James River Drive.

On August 29, 2026, at approximately 8:20 PM, Officers were called to the 10000 block of James River Drive for reports of a male subject who had been shot. The victim was privately transported to a local medical facility with injuries that were considered critical and life threatening.

On Aug 29, 2026, Prince George County Police Officers obtained arrest warrants for Timothy Drewry (35) of Prince George, VA, and initiated apprehension efforts.

On Sept. 3, 2026, Timothy Drewry was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held without bond at Riverside Regional Jail on the following charges:

- Virginia Code § 18.2-51.2, Aggravated Malicious Wounding
- Virginia Code § 18.2-53.1, Use of Fi***rm in Commission of Felony

UPDATE: Police Make Arrest in Shooting Related Homicide

The Prince George County Police Department is providing an update to the shooting related homicide near James River Drive.

On August 29, 2026, at approximately 10:50 a.m., Officers were called to the 15200 block of James River Drive for an unresponsive subject who had been found on private property. Investigators confirmed a deceased male with trauma consistent with ballistic injuries. The victim is identified as Omar DeLoatch (44) of Hampton, VA.

On August 29, 2026, Prince George County Police Officers and Detectives collaboratively progressed this investigation to an arrest – taking Del’Wan Bland (41) of Prince George, VA, into custody without incident. Bland is held at Riverside Regional Jail without bond on the following charges:

- Virginia Code § 18.2-32, Second Degree Murder
- Virginia Code § 18.2-53.1, Use of Fi***rm in Commission of Felony
- Virginia Code § 18.2-308.2, Possession of Fi***rm by Violent Felon

Police Investigating Domestic-Related Shooting

The Prince George County Police Department is investigating a domestic-related shooting on James River Drive.

On August 29, 2026 at approximately 8:20 PM, Officers were called to the 10000 block of James River Drive for reports of a male subject who had been shot. The victim was privately transported to a local medical facility with injuries that are considered critical and life threatening.

Expect continued heavy police presence in the area as the scene is still very active. Residents are advised to avoid the area and be on the lookout for suspicious activity or subjects on foot.

Police Investigating Shooting Related Homicide

The Prince George County Police Department is investigating a shooting related homicide near James Rive Drive.

On 08/29/2026 at approximately 10:50 AM, Officers were called to the 15200 block of James River Drive for an unresponsive subject who had been found on private property. Investigators confirmed a deceased male with trauma consistent with ballistic injuries.

The investigation is still in preliminary stages, as investigators process the scene and related evidence. The remains have been turned over to the Medical Examiner’s Office for formal rulings on cause and manner of death.
