Susan Fierro Commonwealth's Attorney

Susan Fierro Commonwealth's Attorney Susan Fierro is the elected Commonwealth's Attorney (prosecutor) for Prince George County, Virginia. AUTHORIZED BY FIERRO FOR COMMONWEALTH’S ATTORNEY

Susan O’Prandy Fierro is a career prosecutor, the mother two school-aged children, and native of Virginia Beach, Virginia. A graduate of Cox High School, she earned her undergraduate degree from Longwood College in Farmville, Virginia and her law degree from the George Mason University School of Law. After becoming a member of the Virginia State Bar in 1998, Susan immediately began a career in pub

lic service, serving as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in City of Norfolk and then in City of Virginia Beach. Along the way, Susan earned distinction as a hard-working, no-nonsense prosecutor. After marrying a fellow prosecutor based in central Virginia, Susan relocated to Richmond in 2004 and joined the Hopewell Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office. Though hired as an assistant prosecutor, she was soon promoted to Deputy Commonwealth’s Attorney and took on supervisory and leadership roles in the office—in addition to continuing to prosecute crimes of violence and crimes against children. In 2008, Susan and her husband moved to Prince George County to raise their family. Susan immediately invested in her community and accepted a number of leadership positions with several community-focused organizations. However, a change in leadership in the Hopewell Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office led to Susan accepting a position with the Henrico County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office in 2010. Throughout her career, Susan has put people before politics—serving under Commonwealth’s Attorneys elected from both major political parties. During her time in Henrico, Susan prosecuted homicide and s*x crimes, among other violent offenses. She remained in the Henrico prosecutor’s office until defeating a 12-year incumbent to win election as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Prince George County. Susan O’Prandy Fierro assumed office in Prince George County on January 1, 2016. She is the first elected woman prosecutor in Prince George County and leads an office comprised of three assistant prosecutors, three legal assistants, and a victim-witness program coordinator.
