September is National Kinship Month! Calvert DSS recognizes and commends our kinship families! Your tireless dedication is truly appreciated!

Since September 2024, 10 children from Calvert County have successfully exited foster care to a kinship resource!

Reunification is the primary goal for foster care but if not possible, we seek to ensure children are able to be placed with family first and if not possible to connect children with family as much as possible.

Statewide, of the 3,768 youth experiencing out-of-home care (foster care), 34% (1,300) are in a kinship setting.
