Priceville Volunteer Fire Department

Priceville Volunteer Fire Department We are a volunteer fire department located in Priceville, Alabama with about 25 firefighters. We respect the hard work our founders put forth.

This is the Priceville Volunteer Fire Department located outside of Decatur, AL. We are a department of 30+ dedicated individuals who respond to over 1000 calls per year. We welcome you to look at our site and see what we have going on in our community. Please come back frequently as we update the information and calendars often. The Priceville Volunteer Fire Department was formed in 1973 by a han

dful of dedicated visionaries. They were donated an old military truck and scavenged the remaining materials to make themselves the department’s first fire truck. It had a home-made steel tank, a small pump, and a few hundred feet of hose. A lot has changed since the day those men started protecting the community. Today, the Priceville Volunteer Fire Department has grown to have over 35 members, three stations, and numerous high-tech trucks and equipment. The demands of the fire service have also changed over the years with the evolving societies and technologies. In turn, this requires our team to more highly trained and flexible to respond to such emergencies.

Thank you, whoever you are…

Last night, we responded to a car fire on Highway 67. The vehicle had caught fire while in motion, forcing the driver to pull over. This video from my dashcam (taken while heading to the station) shows a stranger jumping out of their own car and running toward the flames to ensure no one was trapped inside.

Bystanders confirmed that everyone was safe and clear of the vehicle, but I still want to commend that passerby. It takes incredible courage to run toward danger to help a stranger. Thank you!

Mother nature is throwing all seasons at us in a single 24-hour period. Since the storms are coming at night, make sure you have a way to informed if the weather gets too bad.

Just because past predictions didn’t get as bad as suggested, doesn’t mean the weather men are always going to be wrong.
