Shoutout to Priceville PD’s K9 Kilo (and those other two guys he brought with him😉) for stopping by The Max!

Great teamwork!

On February 20, 2026, officers with the Decatur Police Department were dispatched to a burglary at a church in the 3000 block of Upper River Road. It was learned that thousands of dollars in electronic equipment had been stolen.

During the preliminary investigation and with the assistance of the Priceville Police Department, Jurdy Wayne Hughes Jr. was developed as the primary suspect.

Hughes was located and detained by the Priceville Police Department, pending the burglary investigation. Property found in Hughes’ possession was later determined to be some of the items stolen during the burglary.

Hughes was ultimately arrested for Burglary 3rd Degree and Theft of Property 1st Degree. He was booked into the Morgan County Jail on a $40,000 bond, per a Morgan County Circuit Court Judge.

“The defendant is accused of the above crimes and should be considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

All property stolen in the burglary was recovered.
