This past week, a few members of our Harm Reduction Team had the opportunity to attend the two-day Kentucky Overdose Prevention Summit in Louisville. They spent two days learning, connecting, and bringing back ideas that can make a difference in our community.
Every conversation, partnership, and lesson learned helps strengthen our efforts to support prevention, recovery, and hope in Floyd County.

Your workplace can be a great place to build healthy habits!

The Floyd County Health Department is excited to continue our Worksite Wellness Program this year, helping employees stay active, connected, and healthy.

This year’s activities included:
🏓 Pickleball, walking, and reading at Archer Park - followed by a group picnic

🥾 A group hike at Sugarcamp Mountain Trail, finishing up at Lizzie B's Cafe & Bakery

⏱️ Staff members are also challenged to make the most of their 15-minute breaks by stretching, walking, practicing yoga, and incorporating movement into their day through friendly wellness competitions.

Worksite wellness is about more than exercise, it's about building stronger teams, reducing stress, and creating a healthier community together.

Our Environmental Services Program helps protect the health and safety of Floyd County residents through inspections, education, and prevention programs.
Services include septic system evaluations, restaurant and pool inspections, hotel and school inspections, rabies prevention, lead poisoning prevention, radon education, and much more.
