Join your neighbors for a fantastic evening at the Concert in the Park on Saturday, September 12th from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to James T. Wright Memorial Park (105 Backlanding Rd) to enjoy a live performance by the Hot Dog Gravy Band. While you listen to the music, make sure to browse and support our small vendors market featuring a variety of local makers and unique craft artisans.

🎉 New Playground Alert! 🎉

The wait is officially over, Preston! The Town of Preston hosted a special ribbon-cutting ceremony to unveil the newly upgraded community playground.

The park features brand-new, modern equipment designed for children and families to enjoy safely. Neighbors, friends, and families gathered to explore the upgrades and celebrate a fresh, vibrant space for our community's youth.

The new Playground Project was 100% funded by DNR Community Parks and Playground Grant. We rely heavily on grants like these to update and maintain our beloved James T. Wright Memorial Park.

Preston is GOING PURPLE this September! 💜

September marks National Recovery Month, and communities across Caroline County—including right here in Preston—are standing tall against substance use disorder.

The color purple represents courage, survival, and a shared commitment to breaking the stigma surrounding addiction.We wear purple to honor the loved ones we have lost to drug overdose, to support families who are healing, and to remind everyone currently on the path to recovery that you do not have to walk this journey alone.

How you can participate this month:
Light Up the Town: Replace your outdoor porch lights with purple bulbs.
Tie a Ribbon: Hang a purple ribbon on your front door, fence, or local business storefront.
Wear Purple Fridays: Join us by rocking your purple gear every Friday.
Join the Walk: Keep an eye out for regional gatherings, memory walks, and peer support events around the County

The Town of Preston cordially invites all residents, families, and friends to celebrate the official opening of our newly improved community playground. Join us for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 3:30 PM as we unveil these exciting new park upgrades designed for our community's children and families to enjoy.

The event will take place at James T. Wright Memorial Park, located at 105 Backlanding Road, Preston, MD 21655.

Come out to explore the new playground equipment, connect with neighbors, and celebrate this wonderful addition to our town.

Following the ceremony, the celebration continues with live music from the KG Band performing from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and your best dance moves to enjoy an evening of community fun and great music.
