EMS Program at Northern Maine Community College The EMS Program at Northern Maine Community College offers a variety high quality of courses in Emergency Medical Services education.

The NMCC EMS Program offers students the opportunity for high quality education, skills, and experiences necessary to become National Registry Certified EMTs/Paramedics. NMCC EMS Program offers certification courses in Emergency Medical Responder (EMR), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT), Paramedic, and Maine EMS Instructor/Coordinator. ers the opportunity for Paramedics to advance their studies in the up-and-coming field of Community Paramedicine. Students of the NMCC EMS Program enjoy small personalized classes with ample one-on-one instructor time. Our local clinical sites work closely with our students in a highly personalized way. Students also have clinical opportunities both State wide and in various sites within New England. Students enrolled in our Community Paramedic Program enjoy an on-line education to promote distance learning, and the EMS Program at NMCC works closely with students to help them achieve their clinical goals close to home. The NMCC EMS Program is a CAAHEP accredited program in Paramedicine. The EMS Program is also a Maine EMS Authorized Training Center, welcoming Canadian as well as American students.

I wanted to share an exciting opportunity for anyone in Aroostook County to earn free Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) while supporting our Paramedic class.
This year, our Paramedic students will be delivering multiple 30-minute presentations on a range of topics — from pediatric assessment tools in trauma to hybrid and electric vehicle safety. These sessions represent the culmination of their hard work in the Medical Emergencies course, and they are eager to showcase what they’ve learned.
Below are the details, and I’ve attached a flyer with additional information. Please feel free to share this opportunity with others. All are welcome to attend the full day or join for any portion that fits your schedule.
When: Saturday, November 22, 2025
Where: NMCC Edmunds Conference Center
Times:
Morning Session: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Afternoon Session: 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.

On Friday, fourteen NMCC paramedic students responded to various locations about the campus for simulated EMS response as part of their end of semester evaluations. This involves patient care spanning from dispatch to hand-off in the Emergency Department. This will be the 2025 group of graduating paramedics. Maine EMS and Ambulance New Brunswick should be in anticipation of this great group of providers.
