π§Ά5/1 - Author Karen Toothaker joins us for a special Friday Storytime complete with a workshop on how to make your own No-Sew Ragdoll!
π¨5/1 - Opening reception for our new art show as part of First Friday Art Night will run 5PM to 7PM. This month's show is the fourth installment of our UMPI Art Department Alumni series, featuring Kati Christoffel '14, Amanda Giberson β24, Rolf Olsen β76, and Rhea CΓ΄tΓ© Robbins β82
π5/7 - A new patron-led program begins this Thursday called "Needing Friends"! Needing Friends is a meetup designed for folks looking to meet more people and make social connections - adults of all ages and backgrounds are welcome!
πΊπΈ5/11 - The Presque Isle Historical Society joins us for a continuation of our bimonthly Semiquincentennial lecture series! This month's lecture will focus on "Lydia Darragh, American Spy."
π³οΈ5/14 - The Maine Department of the Secretary of State will be joining at 5:30PM us to host a Mock Election! This all ages, non-partisan event will teach about Ranked Choice Voting and how you can make your voice heard in anticipation of next month's primaries.
π5/16 - Author Gary Stevens joins us at 12PM for a presentation on his and co-author David Eid's book "Stolen Seasons: How Maine Sports Survived the COVID-19 Pandemic".
π§ 5/18 to 5/22 - MindBloom Learning returns for a very special week of afterschool programming! Call the Children's Library to register and provide your tshirt size, and we'll see you at 3:30 every day.
π»5/23 - Award-winning Maine author Amy Safford joins us at 12:30PM for an event surrounding her latest book: "Good Vibrations of the Wresting Place."
π5/25 - The library will be CLOSED in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen as usual on Tuesday, May 26th at 9AM. Have a safe long-weekend!
Recurring events: Storytimes are Wednesdays at 1PM and Fridays at 11AM - children of all ages are welcome! Writers group meets the first and third Wednesday of the month. Book club will meet on the 6th to discuss "The Poppy Fields" by Nikki Erlick. Crown of Maine Quilters will meet on Saturday the 9th this month.
