🗺️Our library passports are here, and already stamped! Celebrate Library Card Sign-up Month and visit a library in all 16 counties by the end of the year.

📍Get full contest details at mainelibraries.org/passport. Completed entries can either be mailed to the Maine Library Association at P.O. Box 1993, Portland, ME 04104 or photos of the completed signatures can be emailed to [email protected].

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 29th at 5PM - Are YOU ready for when disaster strikes?

September is National Preparedness Month! We're welcoming Aroostook County Emergency Management to come educate families how to prepare a go-bag and be ready in cases of a nearby emergency. Meet one of your local EMA representatives, and take home items to help keep you prepared and handouts to help keep you and your family safe!

This event is FREE and open to the public.

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 21st at 11:30AM - Celebrate Aviation with the Presque Isle Air Museum!

Learn about the Presque Isle Air Museum at the Library! Meet Linda Menard from the museum board and construct your own cardboard plane to fly off of the balcony!

This event is aimed at youth ages 9-13 and is FREE to attend.

NEXT WEEK. On Saturday, September 19th, celebrate by using your library card to access many of Maine's state parks free of charge! Show your Maine library card at the entrance to any participating Maine state park and enjoy a day of hiking, picnicking or reading in Maine's beautiful state parks.

💚Did you know our own Aroostook State Park was the first in the state of Maine? Established in 1938 by a 100 acre donation from the City of Presque Isle, it now spans over 800 acres of beautiful land for the public to enjoy.

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 25th at 3:30PM - The Apple Party returns to the Presque Isle Children's Library!

Stop by after school for a storytime, apple crafts and décor, treats, plus c***r and apples provided by the MSAD #1 Educational Farm! This event is free and open to children of all ages.

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th, 2PM to 4PM - An abode? For a toad?

Join Alex Rino at The Library House for a new sort of creative workshop! Create a functional fairy house out of nature for your friendly neighborhood garden toad. Materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own foraged bits and bobs as well!

This event is FREE and open to the public, with thanks to our Docent and the Library Board of Trustees.
