A small department milestone, but one worth recognizing: D-Crew recently completed its first shift as a fully staffed Advanced Life Support (ALS) crew.

Thanks in part to the outstanding Paramedic Program at Northern Maine Community College, our department has continued to strengthen its emergency medical capabilities. We are now nearly fully staffed at the Advanced EMT (AEMT) level or higher, with the majority of our personnel trained as paramedics.

The members of the Presque Isle Fire Department remain committed to providing the highest level of prehospital care possible and are always ready to answer the call for service. As a 24 member career department, our current staffing includes 14 paramedics, 5 AEMTs, and 5 EMTs.

This achievement reflects the dedication of our personnel, their commitment to continuing education, and our ongoing investment in serving the community with highly trained emergency responders.

Happy EMS Week to our pre-hospital clinicians near and far!

The Presque Isle Fire Department is made up of 24 career staff members licensed at the EMT, AEMT, and Paramedic levels. Our crews provide emergency medical care to multiple communities throughout the region and transport patients needing additional care to hospitals outside of Aroostook County.

We take pride in serving our communities with professionalism, compassion, and dedication every day. Thank you to all EMS providers for the work you do and the sacrifices you make to care for others.

We love seeing our former members succeed in their careers. FF/Paramedic Gahagan, now Assistant Chief Gahagan with Fort Fairfield Fire-Rescue, stopped by our open house today. Assistant Chief Gahagan was on B-Crew under the direction of Deputy Chief Rider when he started at PIFD!
