The Spirit of Hope Award is the highest honor presented by United Way of Aroostook for corporate community involvement. It recognizes an individual or organization that truly embodies generosity, compassion, and a commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.

This year’s recipient is an organization that has shown that commitment in so many ways — Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital!

Year after year, A.R. Gould leads one of our largest workplace campaigns, but their commitment to our community goes far beyond a campaign.

Through A.R. Gould Cares, they have created an incredible culture of caring for their employees. In partnership with United Way of Aroostook, this fund provides quick assistance to employees who are facing unexpected times of need. It is a wonderful example of an organization understanding that caring for a community starts with caring for the people who make up that community.

Their generosity doesn’t stop there. A.R. Gould employees regularly partner with us on food drives, toy drives, our annual Christmas raffle, and countless other community initiatives. They are always willing to step up, lend a hand, and help when they are needed.
Their generosity and compassion have touched the lives of so many individuals and families across Aroostook County.

We are incredibly grateful for the partnership, the generosity, and the heart that Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital brings to our community.

It was our honor to present this year’s United Way of Aroostook Volunteer of the Year Award to the MMG Charity Golf Tournament Committee! ⛳️❤️

For more than 30 years, this incredible group of volunteers has dedicated countless hours to organizing an amazing event that brings our community together for a great cause. Their hard work, commitment, and generosity have made a lasting impact throughout Aroostook County.

And the impact speaks for itself — through the dedication of the committee, the generosity of sponsors, and the incredible participants who show up year after year, the MMG Charity Golf Tournament has raised more than $800,000 over the years! 🎉

Congratulations to United Insurance, this year’s Champion of Hope Award recipient!

This award recognizes a business that demonstrates outstanding leadership, dedication, passion, and tenacity by inspiring employees to get involved, give back, and raise funds and awareness for the issues facing our community.

Year after year, United Insurance has built a strong and generous workplace campaign—and their commitment continues to grow. They have expanded their campaign to include their Madawaska office and are helping facilitate conversations to strengthen workplace giving across the state.

Last night, we had the honor of gathering for our Annual Awards and celebrating the incredible people who give their time, talent, and heart to United Way of Aroostook.

One of the most special moments of the evening was presenting the President’s Award to Jennifer Deschene, recognizing her incredible two years of service as our Board President.

Jenn’s leadership, creativity, and energy have helped guide United Way through two remarkable years of change, growth, and increased impact.

Her trust, encouragement, and willingness to challenge us to think differently have given us the confidence to grow, try new things, and ultimately make a greater difference in our community.

Jenn has given United Way of Aroostook her time, leadership, friendship, and heart, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done to help move this organization forward.

Happy to partner on this beautiful train ride to raise funds and awareness for the Aroostook House of Comfort!

🚂 All Aboard for a Great Cause! 🍂

We are incredibly grateful to Maine Northern Railway for selecting the Aroostook Hospice Foundation as the charitable recipient of this year’s Fall Foliage Train Rides!

On Saturday, September 26, enjoy a beautiful ride through the St. John Valley, with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting the Aroostook House of Comfort.

Maine Northern Railway is generously providing the train and crew, and we are equally grateful to the United Way of Aroostook and their volunteers for stepping up to help us bring this special event together.

🎟️ Tickets are $30 per passenger and go on sale September 10 at 9:00 AM. All passengers, including young children riding on a lap, will need a ticket. The ticket link will be shared that morning.
