Effective February 1, 2026, the TSA will charge a $45 fee for passengers who don’t have a REAL ID or another acceptable ID (like a passport).
TSA will require passengers without REAL ID (or a valid Passport) to use the new TSA Confirm.ID system for identity verification in order to fly domestically.

This $45 fee covers one 10-day travel period, after which it must be paid again. The fee helps cover the cost of this identity check for those without proper documentation, in the hopes of encouraging everyone to get a REAL ID or alternative ID to avoid delays.

✈️ Key Details:
- Fee: $45 for the TSA Confirm.ID service.
- Effective Date: February 1, 2026.
- Purpose: To verify identity for those without a REAL ID or other accepted ID.
- Validity: The fee covers a 10-day period.

✈️ How to Avoid the Fee:
- Get a REAL ID (marked with a star).
- Use other acceptable IDs like a U.S. Passport, Passport Card, or DHS Trusted Traveler Cards (Global Entry, NEXUS).

✈️ Where to Pay/Get Info:
- Pay online via pay.gov before traveling or at designated airport locations.
- Contact your local DMV to get your REAL ID.

Today, we pause to remember September 11, 2001—a day that forever changed our nation and the aviation community. ✈️🇺🇸

As an airport, we honor the lives lost, the first responders who acted with unimaginable courage, and the resilience that brought us together in the days that followed.

Air travel represents connection, possibility, and unity—and on this day, we stand together to reflect, to remember, and to honor.

We will never forget.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Prescott, AZ (August 18, 2025) – An additional United Express flight, operated by SkyWest Airlines, will soon be available between Prescott Regional Airport and Denver International Airport. Starting October 26th, air travelers in northern Arizona will have two daily options to connect to Denver and the world, through United’s Denver hub, in addition to the daily flight to United’s hub at Los Angeles International Airport.
The enhanced schedule will include both a morning and an early evening option to Denver, and the flight to Los Angeles will soon connect to more flight options by departing earlier in the day around noontime. Each of the flights to and from Prescott Regional Airport will be onboard Bombardier CRJ200 50-seat regional jet aircraft.

“These service improvements are indicative of the strong demand in Prescott and the surrounding region,” says Mayor Phil Goode. “Airlines have many requests and an abundance of opportunities to serve smaller communities, the fact that they are allocating more of their aircraft and their crew resources to Prescott Regional Airport is a testament to the partnership and collaboration with SkyWest and United Airlines.”

SkyWest Airlines operates from 258 cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico, with more than 2,100 flights each day. 41% of those flights operate as United Express, though SkyWest also operates as Delta Connection, American Eagle and Alaska Airlines in other markets.

Prescott Regional Airport is proud to support inclusive travel with Communication Boards installed in our Terminal and Secure Holding Area!
These boards are designed using principles inspired by Minspeak® — a powerful communication system that uses consistent symbols to help individuals express themselves quickly and effectively.

Minspeak (short for “minimal speech”) supports alternative communication by empowering users to build phrases and sentences through symbol sequences — giving a voice to those who use AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication).

View the Poster above to RSVP to the Sweeney’s if you want to attend an upcoming, informational event that will dive deeper into alternative communication and explore the impact of Minspeak® systems.

Findlay Subaru - Willow Creek Rd.
9AM - 10AM on July 10, 2025.

Be sure to stop by the Airport and see our Communication Boards in action — where every traveler is heard. ✈️🗣️

Prescott Regional Airport’s Two-Day Public Open House event was a massive success.

PRC Leadership & Staff and Dibble Engineering was onsite answering questions and hearing concerns regarding the proposed Shift of the Commercial Runway (3R-21L).
The proposal is to shift Runway 3R/21L to the northeast by approximately 1,000 linear feet. This would relocate (shift) runway 3R/21L further east from highway SR89.

Thank you to the Prescott Centennial Center for your hospitality and hosting us! 🛫🥂

Prescott Regional Airport is requesting public comments on the proposed Shift of the Commercial Runway (3R-21L). The proposal is to shift Runway 3R/21L to the northeast by approximately 1,000 linear feet. This would relocate (shift) runway 3R/21L further east from highway SR89. The proposed shift would relocate the existing departure end of the runway (DER) by 780 linear feet. In turn this shift will enable commercial service operators to clear the One Engine Inoperable (OEI) splay without the current obstructions. The proposed shift would also allow aircraft to fly over the Deep Well Ranch and Pinon Oaks subdivisions at a higher altitude, providing safer operations and to help mitigate noise in these areas by potentially offering quieter operations.

Please take the opportunity to join us for an Open House to ask questions and gain more information on this exciting project. ✈️

Open House is on June 25th and 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the City of Prescott Centennial Center located on 1989 Wineglass Dr., Prescott, Arizona.
