Very interesting thing happened last Saturday night on the haunted tour. I took the group to a very special place in the alley and a lady in the tour took three pictures in a row of her husband and another man standing at the bottom of this very spooky staircase and in two of the pictures - no one is standing at the bottom - in the third picture - the two men are standing at the bottom of the stairs. There was a reflection off to the side of the pictures and it showed up in all three pictures. Very interesting!!! You never know what will happen on the tour!!!

I have always been fascinated by cemeteries. When you want to know the history of an area, drive through the cemetery. In fact, get out and walk around. Read their names out loud and then notice how you feel. Stand quietly and honor their life, their journey and their death. These graves represent the history of the town and how it became what it is today.

Ladies of the night in Prescott were visited by railroad employees and when that happened the employee would hang his lantern outside. That way if he was needed, he could be found. Now everyone knows the color of a railroad lantern...RED. The Red Light District!!

Prescott was home to the Yavapai Indians, then in 1838 the Mountain Men, trappers and miners came to the area. Prescott was founded by miners and really became a mining town when gold was discovered in 1864 and President Lincoln made Prescott the territorial capital.

Haunted Coyote Joes and Annie's Attic in Prescott - in the late 1800s this building was the historic Arizona Hotel, and also was the home of one of Arizona's first brothels. Underneath these buildings were tunnels which were used for o***m dens and laundry delivery routes by Asian immigrants. It didn't take long for the owners, employers and customers to know that they were not the only one sharing this building.

Did you know that the Ku Klux Klan were in Prescott in 1922? Everyone knew they arrived when a huge cross was set ablaze on one of the hills overlooking a canyon. It was large enough to be visible to almost everyone in Prescott. The African-American population was fairly small so they complained about the laxity on the part of law enforcement in enforcing Prohibition laws.
