First there was discussion from the superior courts and their "criminal justice committee" about moving to abolish the justice courts. Then the superior court moved to remove all felony summons filings from the Prescott Justice Court (with plans to do it county wide). Now the county attorney and superior court presiding judge have moved to allow unilaterally change venues from the justice courts to superior court at any time during any proceedings.

Your justice court system is under attack!! Let your county supervisors know you do not support these actions!!

If you receive an Order of Protection from a court in Arizona, there is no fee from the court, OR a fee to serve this document as outlined in ARS 13-3602 (D).

The Arizona Constables Association was made aware that some private process servers are charging domestic violence victims for this service. The average cost of serving was $187. One victim was charged $3,300. More than 90 cases were found in about two hours of looking with about 400 declarations of service still to look at.

This weekend 5 constables from around the state attended the Arizona Constables Association 's first AZPOST Police Rifle training course. While I attended this class as a deputy sheriff 21 years ago, it was definitely a good refresher course. A huge thank you to Prescott Valley PD Sgt. Matt Williams and Mohave County Constable Mike Hoggard for their time and instruction!!

This last weekend, Constable Thomas R. Schenek Jr., my boy, and I, did a 12 mile horseback ride around Cienaga Creek, Colossal Cave, and the back country of Tucson: crossing creeks, railroad tracks, and highways. As we are all 1880s cowboy reenactors, we decided to do the entire thing in period clothing.
