😍 It's small notes like this that remind us why this work matters.

Recently, through our Supplemental Cards Program, we helped a foster family purchase essentials for their six-month-old foster son. A few days later, we received this thank-you note.

"Thank you so much for the $125 gift card to Walmart for our foster son. We were able to get him some diapers, teether toys, toothpaste, multivitamins, formula, and a car fan to stay cool."

👉These are the everyday items growing children need but they can add up quickly for foster, kinship, and reunifying families.

This Memorial Day, Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation pauses to honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice protects the freedoms we cherish, and we are deeply grateful.

Please note that our office will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will resume normal business hours on Tuesday, May 26 and will respond to any messages as soon as we return.

Today, we are thankful for Josh Caulkins and the Temple B'rith Shalom for their generous donation of 40 pajamas to our Prajama and Book Drive.

Their donation accounts for almost all the PJs we have to deliver!

Because of their donation, we're about to deliver 50 PJ and book sets to DCS to give to kids in foster care.

Penny is 13 years old.

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗱 𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮 𝗯𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲.

Penny and her brother entered the foster care system in Yavapai county because of homelessness. They now live in a group home in Phoenix and will stay there while their dad works to get them a stable living situation.

To Penny, the bike meant freedom!⛓️‍💥

She wanted to learn how to ride so she could ride to school one day, go to the park, visit friends, and simply feel more independent.

Through our Grants for Kids program, we were able to provide Penny with a 24-inch bike, a helmet, and a lock.

👉To many of us, that may seem small.

🎯To Penny, it meant everything.

👉Now she and her brother are learning to ride together.

Sometimes helping a child feels simple.
