A huge thank you to all of the instructors at the Arizona Wildfire & Incident Management Academy for sharing your time, knowledge and expertise to make the 2026 academy such a big success! This year, the academy offered a few new classes, including the Women in Wildland Fire program. Students were able to participate in a hands-on, immersive training experience designed to introduce individuals to the diverse career paths, operations, and leadership opportunities within the wildland fire community.

We want to say thanks to John Marsh and the folks at the Granite Mountain Interagency Hotshot Crew Learning and Tribute Center for hosting an open house for Academy staff and students.

The GMIHCLTC is a non profit that is always looking for volunteers and financial assistance to continue their funding and is a great partner of the Academy.

The Academy wants to thank everyone who attended last night's Tribute Night to recognize and remember our fallen firefighters. The event was a huge success and because of your generosity $29,000 was raised to support future scholarships.

And congratulations goes out to two very important contributors within the wildland community:

🏆Chief Robert Jennings with the Oracle Fire Department was nominated and selected as Firefighter of the Year.

🏆And our own Dean Steward received the Herb McElwee Loyalty Award.

Congratulations Chief Jennings and Dean. These awards are well deserved.
