One of the most interesting stories from Alabama’s 2026 primary isn’t about who won but about who voted.

Democratic participation rose significantly compared to recent cycles, while Republican turnout dropped in many counties. Whether driven by competitive races, voter engagement efforts, demographic shifts, policy debates, or a mix of these factors, the data shows how turnout patterns can change from one election to the next.

Regardless of party, an informed and engaged electorate strengthens our democracy.

Democratic turnout increased in 60 of 67 counties.

🔴 LIVE & IN THE ROOM — Autauga County Heirs’ Property Workshop

Tonight in Prattville, we’re joined by the Southern Poverty Law Center and Legal Services Alabama for an important community conversation about heirs’ property and protecting generational land ownership.

Staff Attorney Kim Oliver is walking families through how to identify heirs’ property issues, understand legal rights, resolve title concerns, and avoid losing family property.

This is exactly why I worked to bring this workshop home to District 2 — because information like this can help protect families for generations.

If you couldn’t attend tonight, stay tuned. I’ll share key takeaways from the discussion.

Too many families have lost land, homes, and generational property simply because they didn’t know their legal rights until it was too late.

If your family owns property that has been passed down through generations, this FREE workshop could help protect your family’s legacy.

Another major development in the ongoing national conversation surrounding redistricting and voting rights.

A South Carolina Senate panel declined efforts to redraw congressional maps, while a federal court blocked Alabama’s proposed congressional map.

Regardless of political affiliation, these debates continue to shape conversations about representation, elections, and the future of congressional districts across the South.

Stay informed. Read broadly. Engage respectfully. 🗳️

The proposal passed the South Carolina House on May 20 after two days of long debate. But senators on Tuesday were more skeptical of the effort.

The national conversation surrounding redistricting and voting rights continues to expand beyond the courtroom.

The NAACP has launched a campaign encouraging Black athletes, fans, and recruits to reconsider support for university athletic programs in states involved in ongoing voting rights and redistricting disputes, including Alabama.

Regardless of where people stand on the issue, this reflects how deeply questions of representation and voting rights continue to impact communities across the South.

Stay informed. Read broadly. Engage respectfully.

The civil rights organization is urging recruits to withhold their college commitments in states where new congressional maps could be drawn.

Two judges appointed by President Donald Trump and a third judge originally appointed to the federal bench by President Ronald Reagan joined together in blocking Alabama’s proposed congressional map — citing prior findings that the state violated the Voting Rights Act and intentionally discriminated against Black voters.

This wasn’t a partisan ruling. This was the law.

Alabama is now expected to file an emergency stay motion with the U.S. Supreme Court — possibly as early as today. We could have just days before SCOTUS weighs in.

The fight for fair representation in Alabama is far from over. Stay informed. Stay engaged. 🗳️🙏🏾

A three-judge panel found that the 2023 congressional district maps adopted by Alabama intentionally discriminated against Black voters.
