🚨📚 WELCOME BACK TO SCHOOL 📚🚨

We hope everyone had a great first day! School is here, which means backpacks are packed, pencils are mysteriously disappearing, parents are celebrating… and our school-zone radar is working overtime.

To all the students: Be kind. Work hard. Make good choices.

To parents: You survived summer break. You deserve a medal… or at least a quiet cup of coffee. Please take a moment to talk with your kids about the importance of looking both ways before crossing streets.

To teachers and school staff: Thank you for pouring your hearts into our kids and for doing one of the most important jobs in our community.

And to our drivers: Please SLOW DOWN in school zones, put the phone down, and watch for kids and crossing guards. Getting somewhere a few minutes late is always better than not getting there at all.

Wishing every student, teacher, staff member, and parent a safe, successful, and wonderful school year.

🚨🚨Public Safety Announcement🚨🚨

Over the past few days our officers have taken multiple reports of vehicle-related burglaries. In each of these cases the vehicles were left unlocked and in one case the keys were left in the vehicle.

We strongly encourage everyone to lock their vehicle, remove any items of value or keep them out of plain sight. Don't be an easy target.

If you notice any suspicious activity or people looking into parked vehicles in you neighborhood, please call our office immediately.

🚨🚨 Promotion Announcement 🚨🚨

Please join us in congratulating Kelton Barrett and Mason Eck on their promotions to Sergeant, and Ryan Nix on his promotion to Corporal.

The officers were sworn in during the City Commission meeting on August 3, 2026, with their families and coworkers in attendance.

Sergeant Barrett, Sergeant Eck, and Corporal Nix have served with the Pratt Police Department for several years and have consistently demonstrated integrity, dedication, and a strong work ethic. Because of these outstanding qualities, the officers were selected to take on additional responsibilities and leadership roles within the department.

Congratulations, Kelton, Mason, and Ryan! Your department is proud of you and excited to see you excel in your new roles!

For the month of July, the Pratt Police Department responded to and investigated the following….

679 calls for service, resulting in 23 Misdemeanor and 9 Felony investigations, making 4 arrests. These investigations resulted in charges that included aggravated assault, possession of a controlled substance, driving under the influence (DUI) and domestic battery.

Officers responded to 14 traffic collisions and conducted 218 traffic stops. Officers assisted outside agencies, including Fire/EMS, with 14 calls. Additionally, officers inspected 46 vehicles for title and registration purposes.

These numbers are provided to demonstrate that the Pratt Police Department is dedicated and committed to working with you to make the City of Pratt a safe and desirable place to live, work, and visit.

🚨 MISSING JUVENILE 🚨

The Medicine Lodge Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing juvenile.

Mallery Marie Herd (also known as Holloway), 15 years old, was last seen on July 16, 2026, at approximately 1:34 PM, walking west on 2nd Avenue in Medicine Lodge.

She was possibly wearing a large green hoodie and shorts.

If you have any information regarding Mallery’s whereabouts or see her, please call 911 immediately.
