The trees are budding, the birds are chirping, and.... oh my! Wildlife are on the loose at PECM!

Stop by PECM during your Spring Break next week, Monday, March 16th - Friday, March 20th to play our Animal Tracks Scavenger Hunt!

Grab an ID paper from our front table, search the Museum for all 15 animal tracks, learn something new along the way, and turn in your finished sheet to pick a prize!

PECM will be closed tomorrow, Tuesday March 10th, due to staff shortage.

We will be gone to pick up a few new animals that will be visiting our facility for a couple of months. Be sure to come see the new faces while they’re here! 👀

Our Nature Packs have a new display and an easier checkout system!

Nature Packs are filled with fun educational materials including coloring sheets, an outdoor activity, and a craft for you to check out for a week at a time. Material levels range from K-8th so there’s something for everyone in each pack. Scan the QR code below the pack you want to rent, or on the backside of the pack’s tag, and fill out a brief form to take one home for 7 days!

Don’t let our hours keep you from learning about and enjoying nature, stop by PECM Monday-Friday, 9am-4pm to check one out!

Winter is a time to slow down, conserve energy, and plan for the upcoming year. But that doesn’t mean wild animals aren’t still busy looking for food, shelter, and warmth! Snow might keep us inside but it’s no match for our wild counterparts. Finding tracks in the snow is a great way to learn about wildlife up close while staying safe! Who do you think has been in our backyard?

Any guess as to what this crazy creation is?

It's an Aluminum Cast of a Red Harvester Ant colony! This awe-inspiring piece was donated to PECM by Southfork Cedar this week, and we couldn't be more excited to add it to our displays!

THANK YOU southforkcedar for this very generous and beautiful donation! What a fantastic way to illustrate how Science, Nature, and Art can all go hand-in-hand. Stop by PECM from Monday - Friday, 9am - 4pm to check out this fascinating new addition to our Invertebrate Room!!
