I hope it is appropriate to share my thoughts on the passing of Mr. Larry Crawley. Last year at this time, we were celebrating Larry and his beautiful wife Karen as our Citizens of the Year for 2025.

Larry was a patriarch in many ways; he was a leader, a friend, a father, and a devoted husband. I wish I had taken the opportunity to get to know him better. Yet, during my time as one of his customers, as a person who consistently asked him to help our non-profit organizations, and as a fellow member of organizations that promote Prairie Grove, I did get the advantage of interacting with Mr. Crawley often.

I never saw him out of character. He was the person you saw every day; he was kind, willing to serve, and always smiling. I never heard him gossip or say anything negative about someone else. As well, I have never heard anyone say anything negative about him. He was a man who gave respect to all. If you walked into his downtown business, there was always a group sitting, talking, and enjoying the presence that Mr. Crawley created.

Mr. Crawley will be missed. This is an obvious statement. All people impact their families and are missed. Most people impact their friends and families and are missed. Few people impact the world around them. Mr. Crawley, was part of those few, He loved and is loved by his family, but he also loved and was loved by his friends, church and community members, customers, and acquaintances. I pray that the peace of God will rest upon his family and friends as I attempt to close this statement.

The City of Prairie Grove sends our heartfelt condolences to his wife Karen, his children, his grandchildren, his friends, his customers, and so many more that Mr. Larry impacted daily just by being himself. The City of Prairie Grove, our workers, and our community will miss Mr. Larry Crawley. Thank you Mr. Crawley for being a great example to us.

Mayor David Faulk.
