Proud is an understatement!

Tonight was Scholarship Night for Powhatan High School, and we could not be more thrilled to celebrate four of our outstanding cadets who have earned incredible opportunities for their futures.

Their hard work, leadership, and dedication have truly paid off.

Please join us in congratulating:

• Mackenzie Aeschlimann – Heading to Liberty University!
• Coleman Smith – Heading to West Point!
• Camden Chewning – Heading to the Virginia Military Institute (VMI)!
• Addison May – Joining the United States Coast Guard!

These cadets represent the very best of our program, our school, and our community. Whether they are heading to college, a military academy, or entering directly into the service to protect our nation, we know they are going to do amazing things.

🎉 HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Cadet Emma Aeschlimann! 🎉
Today, 7 April 2026, Emma proved once again why she is in a league of her own by winning the Cadet of the Month board!
Being an "outstanding cadet" is an understatement. Emma’s dedication, discipline, and sharp intellect have kept her undefeated at the boards year after year. Her streak isn't just luck, it’s a testament to her relentless hard work and the high standard she sets for herself and her peers.

We are incredibly proud of her. Join us in celebrating this incredible achievement!

Good Afternoon PCPS Families and Staff,
Powhatan County Public Schools will be closed on Monday, March 16th due to the forecast of severe thunderstorms, including a moderate risk of high winds and enhanced risk tornadoes. Because the timing of the storm system is from late morning into the evening, coinciding with afternoon dismissal and student transportation, the decision has been made out of an abundance of caution to ensure the safety of our students and staff.
We understand this may cause inconvenience for families, and we appreciate your understanding as we prioritize the safety of our school community.

Our Powhatan JROTC cadets traded their fatigues for formal wear this weekend for our annual Cadet Military Ball.

It was an incredible night of tradition, laughter, and celebrating all the hard work this battalion has put in this year. Safe to say, a good time was had by all!

More pictures on the way once I collect them all.
