📺 The dads who pay for 437 channels just to watch the same 3 shows.

And a special shoutout to the dads who spent all day grilling and then said, “I don’t really want anything to eat.”

Chat, if your dad has ever:

🚨 CHAT!!! WE HEARD Y’ALL!!! 🚨

After reviewing the comments, conducting a thorough investigation, interviewing witnesses, and consulting with absolutely nobody.

We’ve decided we’re NOT going anywhere. 😎

That’s right. We’re staying by popular demand.

Some of y’all tried to get rid of us, but the overwhelming support (and a few strongly worded Facebook reactions) made it clear, we’re stuck together, like that good Mac and Cheese you get on Thanksgiving!❤️😂

So buckle up, because we’re still here bringing the updates, the jokes, the community events, the occasional curb-hitting allegations, and whatever else “The Chat” decides to get into next.

Good morning Powder Springs!

We wanted to share a quick update about our social media journey and where we're headed next.

Over the last several months, law enforcement agencies across Metro Atlanta have been finding creative ways to connect with people who may not always see our traditional messaging. We've been paying attention to the analytics, and guess what? Our posts are reaching people not only here in Powder Springs, but across the country and even around the world!

While we're excited about those new connections, our mission remains the same: serving the people of Powder Springs. Every post, every conversation, and every interaction is rooted in our commitment to being the best community partners possible as we work together to keep our city one of the safest places in Cobb County to live, work, and play.

As we move forward under the leadership of our new Deputy Chief, you'll see more important updates about crime prevention, public safety, and community engagement programs. Now, fair warning... our Deputy Chief is a little more "seasoned" than some of us, so the social media banter he uses may look a little different.

But don't worry...

You'll still see Aye Chat pop up on Wacky Wednesday, Fun Friday, and maybe even jump into some friendly social media chatter with our neighboring agencies from time to time.

20-year-old
STEVEN MICHAEL CARTEL HILTON
of Detroit, Michigan
was located, arrested, and is now headed back to Georgia to answer for his charges. Which include: home invasion and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Chat, if you’re between 14 and 20 years old and ever wondered what it’s like to work alongside law enforcement, build leadership skills, make new friends, and serve your community this is your chance!

The Powder Springs Police Cadet Program isn’t just about learning police work. Our cadets participate in:
✅ Team-building activities
✅ Community service projects
✅ Leadership development
✅ Physical fitness challenges
✅ Competitions and training events
✅ Ride-alongs and hands-on learning opportunities
✅ Fun outings and team events

Listen, before y’all start typing, YEESSSS, we came up a little short at the Georgia Police and Fire Games😅

But here’s the thing, while we may not have made it onto the podium, Team Police as a whole was out there collecting gold medals like they were Pokémon cards. So we’re still counting it as a win for the badge! 👮🏽‍♂️🥇

We want to give a huge shoutout to some incredible competitors who brought their A-game:
👏Columbus Georgia Police Department
👏 Cherokee County Fire & Emergency Services
👏 Decatur Fire Department
👏Calhoun Fire Department

Y’all pushed us, humbled us, and reminded us that maybe we should spend a little more time training and a little less time hanging out around the snack table. 😂

Most importantly, we want to send our thoughts and well wishes to the officer from Columbus PD who was injured during the competition. We hope you’re getting plenty of rest and wish you a speedy and full recovery. 💙

At the end of the day, events like these are bigger than medals. They’re about camaraderie, competition, and bringing first responders together from across Georgia.

We’ll be back next year, a little wiser, a little faster, and hopefully with less sore muscles. 😭💪

Good Morning, Powder Springs,

My name is Louis Defense, Deputy Chief of Police, and I want to provide our community with an update regarding the police activity that occurred early this morning on Marietta Street.
At approximately 3:30 a.m., the Powder Springs Police Department received a 911 call reporting an intruder inside a residence. Officers who were already in the area responded immediately and arrived on scene within minutes.

Upon arrival, officers secured the perimeter and began a careful, tactical response to investigate and safely resolve the situation. Given the serious nature of the call, the on-scene supervisor requested mutual aid from the Cobb County Police Department to provide additional personnel, specialized resources, and equipment.

Once all necessary resources were in place, members of the Cobb County SWAT Team made entry into the residence. We are grateful to report that the residents, with whom officers maintained constant communication throughout the incident, were located safe and unharmed. However, it was determined that the intruder had fled the scene prior to law enforcement's entry.

Because of the nature of this incident and our unwavering commitment to providing the highest level of public safety services, we have partnered with the Cobb County Police Department to continue a thorough investigation.

We are asking residents, particularly those in and around the Marietta Street area, to review any home surveillance footage from last night and recent days. If you observe any suspicious individuals or activity, please contact law enforcement.
Even information that may seem minor could be valuable to the investigation.
The Powder Springs Police Department remains fully committed to the safety and well-being of everyone who lives, works, and visits our community. Powder Springs continues to be one of the safest cities in Cobb County, and we will continue working diligently to keep it that way.
