Tonight we were very fortunate and added 2 new members. Lucas Broderick from Beaver and John Mahers from the Village of Pound. We also added Jake Cruz as a future member!

Lucas has allot of experience with heavy equipment working in the logging industry so he will be a great asset with running equipment and trucks. He is level headed so he will help calm some nerves on the tougher jobs. Lucas has a nice little family in Northwest Beaver. He will be one of the 8 Town of Beaver members. It took 2 years to land Lucas but like a good husband or wife their worth the chase.

John was on the dept. 10 years ago. He now retired from semi driving so he will be a huge asset in running the trucks safely. John raised a family right in the Village of Pound and lives 3 doors from our Station 1. We had our eye on his retirement and we were glad he said yes to coming back.

Jake is 2 years old and hangs with his Grandpa Roger. He was all smiles tonight and the years will go by fast. He will be helping us when our knees lock up as we will be old men when he comes off the future member roster and goes on the main roster.

Katies Subs....a little sub shop but a huge supporter of our dept. and the whole community. From the sandwich making during calls, food after local storms and disasters, supporting the youth to organizing community events!

Living proof success follows hard work! This long time gem is for sale so Paula can finally retire after many many years of ownership so if you were ever thinking of your own little shop....here it is with a nice little house or rental!

This afternoon Brazeau - Town Fire Department & Pound Volunteer Fire Department along with the WI DNR were paged for a grass fire out of control in the Northwest part of the Township of Beaver. We are unsure of what caused the ignition as WI DNR determines the cause.

After a first in report from a member via cell phone we were notified of several structures in danger with black smoke in the air which tells us its more than just forest material.. Being a holiday weekend and our status board showing us we might be light on help to handle multiple structures we upgraded to a working still.

Marinette County now has a system called HIEBA which we can track our box cards and watch our incoming help and their status that can be monitored by someone off scene while the crews are getting organized.

Today we went to a working still bringing in Crooked Lake and Town of Stephenson Fire Department incase those structures were to become involved, which thankfully the gang and the DNR got a hold of this fire in time. We have 5 more alarms which would bring much more help but that was not necessary today.

There was one civilian transported by Brazeau Ambulance for unknown to us the circumstances and no firefighter injuries with Coleman Rescue standing by on scene.

Looks to be a beautiful memorial day weekend!

Roads will be busy so make sure to pay extra attention. Sounds like first crop hay will be starting for some on top of still planting crops in our neck of the woods so there will be some extra slow moving vehicles.

The Wendt family we Thank for the countless hours put into the community as a whole!

Back in 2014 we formed a automatic aid agreement with Brazeau - Town Fire Department for a big rural township we cover together. We respond together for that Township as 1 part borders them and one part borders us. That agreement has been nothing but a huge success! All our decisions are based on how that partnership would be affected. If a decision would affect it in a negative way, we toss the idea. If it affects it in a positive way, it's full steam ahead. In order for that to work we needed this guy's rubber stamp along with both our boards back in 2014.

We often wonder how they find the time but if you listen to Paul Harvey talk, it makes perfect sense!

Special Thank You to the Denowski Family at Denowski's Golden Ridge Dairy in Beaver/Crivitz for your continued support of our volunteer fire dept. From donations of K 12 saws, air bags, heavy machinery use etc. etc. They always pick up when we are in a pinch. Zack also volunteers on our dept. in-between work and family when he can.

On this multi generation family dairy farm you will also see excellent animal husbandry from cattle all the way to orphaned baby raccoons, orphaned ducks, orphaned everything that Tracy will take care of until they are ready for the wild, and they return to the wild well fed that's for sure. Sometimes a person wonders if these animals play orphaned to get a good start to life here! True stewards of the land!

We Thank Pastor David Navis and his whole family for volunteering many many hours to better the community as a whole!

Pastor Dave we call him, works side by side with us as we have many people from many different walks of life and careers on our dept. He also is a good mechanic and truck driver.

Every monthly meeting we begin by reviewing our prior calls of what mistakes we made or what went good and how we can improve going forward to better ourselves. We never had a call that went perfect but strive for that one day. He helps us find a solution to problems and face them head on as life goes on no matter what. He also reminds us who is the judge at the end of the day. He keeps us well grounded!
