Ryan’s Foundation was created in 1998 in loving memory and living spirit of Ryan McElroy.

Ryan's Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps children and families that are suffering from life threatening illnesses throughout the Mid-Hudson Valley. Ryan’s Foundation holds events throughout the year, from our Golf Outing, Wine Tasting, Run for Ryan, Clay Shoot, to our annual Gala of Hope. All the money raised from these events goes directly to families and children in need. Ryan’s Foundation will exhaust every possible resource in order to save the life of that child.

💛Meet Maisie: a beautiful baby girl, just 5 months old, who was diagnosed with PMM2-CDG; autosomal recessive metabolic disorder of glycosylation, caused by mutations in the gene. It causes severe multisystem issues, including neurological deficits (hypotonia, ataxia), cerebellar atrophy, and developmental delays. Mortality rate is roughly 20% in the first year of life. Affects roughly 1 in 50,000–100,000 individuals.

Maisie just had surgery at Columbia for a Gtube to help her eat. Thankfully, the surgery was very successful.
Ryan’s Foundation provided the family with gas cards for their commute to and from the hospital, as well as a months supply of Button Huggies, which are a skin-friendly protective accessory designed to help keep gastrostomy buttons comfortably in place throughout daily activities and feedings.

🌼 Meet Lily from Poughkeepsie who is just 6 years old! 🌼

Lily suffers from Retinal detachment (total blindness), seizures, history of skull fracture and stroke due to child abuse.
By Gods Grace, Her and her 8 month old brother were adopted.

Lily’s Orientation & Mobility teacher is eager to help Lily independently pedal a tricycle.

Ryan’s foundation was able to purchase Lily a tricycle.

God willing, her mobility and independence will become stronger each day.

⭐️ The Ryan McElroy Children’s Cancer Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization founded by family and friends of Ryan McElroy who lost his life to cancer just shy of his fifth birthday. It was his bravery and determination that inspired us to continue his courageous battle to fight this devastating disease.
🌟 It is the foundation’s mission to raise funds to support the children living in our community that are afflicted with cancer and other life threatening diseases by improving the quality of life for them and their family while they courageously battle these devastating diseases.

💫 Help us continue to never say no to a child with a life threatening illness. To date, we have helped over 1,800 families and raised over 4 million dollars, which goes directly back to the children. Thank you and God bless 💫

The Ryan McElroy Children’s Cancer Foundation was founded in honor of Ryan. Let us introduce you:

💫 Ryan was born on September 11, 1993. In 1995, he was diagnosed with stage four ewing sarcoma, a rare bone cancer. Ryan fought with bravery. This disease did not stop him from playing baseball, riding his bike, or wrestling with his sister, Tralee in the living room. Ryan is one of the toughest little boys. He went through more at four years old than most.

From chemotherapy, hospital stays, trips to Lourdes France, Ryan never gave up. Everyone that knew Ryan was touched by his innocence and never give up attitude.

🌟 On August 29th 1998, God wanted Ryan to join him in Heaven.

Ryan is in Heaven looking down upon all of us. His bravery, determination, and spirit created this foundation to help other children and families fighting with life threatening illnesses. Everyday Ryan spirit lives on and will never be forgotten.

Meet Derek! 💙 He is just 11 years old from Warwick NY.
Derek was born with Spinal Muscular Atrophy with quadriplegic track-dependent, resulting in muscle weakness, lack of voluntary movement, and respiratory failure.

We helped Derek in 2022 with a shower bed and this past week, Ryan’s foundation paid for a Physical Therapy Treatment Bed. We hope this makes a difference in Derek’s lifestyle and brings a little hope to their family.
