Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday March 10th, a limited quantity of St. Patrick’s Day shirts will be available for purchase. Shirts are offered in adult sizes Small through 3XL for $20 each; payment by cash or check only. These special-edition shirts will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Attention Residents of Beekman: several people have inquired about open burning. Yes, you are now allowed to conduct open burning on your properties. Please make sure you are following the New York State DEC guidelines for burning. You are only allowed to burn tree limbs (with or without attached leaves) with dimensions NO GREATER THAN 6” in diameter and 8’ in length. You are NOT allowed to burn leaf piles.

Open burning is the single greatest cause of wildfires in NYS. Since the spring burn ban was implemented in 2009, the number of wildfires has decreased by more than 40%.

UPDATED LOCATION! Attention all emergency services, veterans and friends…we are organizing a roadside salute to Dutches County Sheriff, former marine and former Beekman FD member, Nick Gasparre on Saturday November 23rd. The muster points are as follows:

1) Route 82 and Beekman Road
2) Route 82 and Noxon Road
3) Route 55 and Velie Road (fire apparatus and flag will be here)

If you would like to join us, please be at one of those points by 10:15am on Saturday.

Let’s give Nick and his family the send off he deserves!

As a reminder, the Town of Beekman and many surrounding municipalities have an open burn bad in effect due to the dry conditions and high risk of rapid fire spread. Please do not attempt to burn outdoors until the ban is lifted.
