Looking for a unique Father’s Day gift dad will never see coming?! Tell him you appreciate his parenting skills with a…Rhea egg! Why?

Well, because unlike many bird species, male Rheas take on most parenting duties. A single male will gather eggs from several females into one nest, incubate them for about six weeks and care for the chicks after they hatch.

This large, flightless bird is native to South America. Often compared to an ostrich, they are the largest birds in the Americas and can stand nearly 5 feet tall.

I want to say the biggest thank you to the ever-amazing harpist Liz for joining us for the return of First Fridays in Poughkeepsie! The whole downtown came alive and many beautiful memories were made! Soooo many people reached out to me after the event to say how special it was that Liz let everyone try out her harp! (I even took a whirl and made some serious “dream sequence” vibes happen! 😂)

Thank you to everyone who came out! Next month’s First Friday gets even bigger and better, as we prepared to welcome back street vendors/food trucks! July 3….Stay tuned!

We’ve got a new vendor. He doesn’t have a shop name. He doesn’t do social media. What he does have is this pit viper and a bunch of other cool stuff.

(Also thank you Meg for these flowers. They make my heart happy.)
