As temperatures continue to rise, many of us enjoy traveling with our pets. Please remember never to leave pets unattended inside a vehicle, even for a short period of time. Today, the City of Pottsville Health and Animal Officer responded to an incident involving two dogs left inside a vehicle for more than one hour in 92-degree weather. The interior temperature of the vehicle reached 126 degrees. High temperatures inside vehicles can quickly become dangerous and life-threatening for animals. Please be mindful of how our actions impact our furry family members and take the necessary precautions to keep them safe. Thank you

As the weather warms up, we all want to open our windows. Please be sure that your window screens are closed. To prevent any curious pets from wandering. The Pottsville Animal control officer responded to a cat trapped on a roof incident earlier today. Thankfully with some rope and ingenuity. He was able to return the cat to its owner.
