ANNUAL CLEAN UP JUNE 13, 2026

Place your items curbside on Friday evening. Pick up will begin at
6:30 a.m. Saturday morning.

RESTRICTIONS: NO electronics (including TV's, Computers and Printers. NO tires/rims, batteries and building/ construction materials.

REFRIGERATORS - doors must be removed and a sticker placed on the back stating FREON has been removed. NO STICKER/NO PICKUP.

MATTRESSES must be wrapped in plastic, will not be picked up without it.

AIR CONDITIONERS will be taken ONLY with a visible sticker stating FREON has been removed. NO STICKER/NO PICKUP

PAINT CANS must have lids removed and paint must be hardened.
All other items, including furniture will be allowed.

ANYONE WHO IS PAST DUE 30 DAYS OR MORE ON THEIR GARBAGE BILL CANNOT PARTICIPATE.

Please remember this service is for borough residents only and only
during the annual cleanup. These items CANNOT be put out for weekly pickup. A fee will be charged to the homeowner if bulk items are placed out and picked up during weekly collection.

Dear Residents

Due to the number of outstanding delinquent trash accounts we have no choice but to suspend trash pick up for those residence in violation of unpaid trash bills in accordance with our Ordinance.
Effective May 1st, 2026, if your account is not brought up to date, your trash collection will be suspended. We encourage you to bring your account up to date or reach out to our borough office at [email protected] to discuss a payment plan.
Any residents' trash that is suspended will also result in a quality of life citation as per our ordinance.

We have had many inquiries about the garbage collection checks not being deposited. Unfortunately our secretary has been sick and was hospitalized. Please bear with us as she tries to catch up!

❄️❄️❄️❄️REMINDER ❄️❄️❄️❄️

Please do NOT throw snow on the roads. Our plow drivers have spent many, many, hours clearing the streets of Mechanicsville to make it safe for our residents to drive. They have done an excellent job and some residents are now throwing snow back on the street. Code enforcement will be out enforcing the ordinance, a severe fine will be given to anyone caught doing so.
Help maintain our streets and keep them clear!!!

Due to the weather forecasted this weekend the borough is asking residents to abide by the snow emergency signs on First Street and Norwegian Street. Parking restrictions in these areas will start at 10 PM Saturday, January 24th 2026 till the end of the storm. Please remember not to throw snow on the streets when shoveling, anyone doing so will be fined.

Due to Christmas and New Year’s holiday, garbage collection will be on Saturday December 27th and Saturday January 3rd

Starting January 2026, borough meetings will be held at 6 pm instead of 7 pm the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

The reorganization meeting will be held Monday, January 5th. This will also be our regular scheduled meeting for the month of January.
