Yesterday, the Chamber celebrated the ribbon cutting for Wild Acolytes in Saint Clair!

Wild Acolytes offers a little something for everyone, featuring Ruined Temple Press, an in-house bookshop with used books and indie titles, consigned clothing and home goods, and unique items such as tarot, spell jars, and other thoughtfully curated offerings. More than a shop, it's a welcoming space built around creativity, discovery, and community.

Congratulations to owner Jessica Ivey on this exciting new venture. We wish Wild Acolytes continued success and encourage everyone to stop in and explore all it has to offer!

Last Thursday, the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce hosted our May Schuylkill Women in Business Luncheon, generously sponsored by Mid Penn Bank and held at Carmelo's Roman Delight

Guests enjoyed an insightful presentation from Nicole Straub, Community Education Officer at Mid Penn Bank, who discussed the important connection between emotional, relational, and mental wellness in both our personal and professional lives. Nicole shared practical strategies for navigating stress, building strong relationships, and maintaining overall well-being.

The luncheon also marked a special transition for our committee leadership. We extend our sincere gratitude to Cynthia Mensch, Alvernia University Pottsville CollegeTowne, for her dedication and service as SWIB Chair and thank her for her leadership over the years. At the same time, we are excited to welcome Lori Guzick, Esq., Williamson, Friedberg & Jones, LLC, as the new Chair of the Schuylkill Women in Business Committee.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for an afternoon of learning, networking, and celebrating the incredible women who make our business community stronger.

For years, Schuylkill County nonprofits have rallied support through Schuylkill Gives โ€” a countywide day of giving initiated by the Schuylkill Area Community Foundation. Building on the success of this effort, Schuylkill Gives is now joining NEPA Gives, the regionโ€™s largest giving event.

The Schuylkill Area Community Foundation will collaborate with the community foundations of Scranton, Luzerne, Wayne County, Greater Pike, Carbon County, the Twin Tiers, and Monroe County. This partnership brings greater reach, more resources, and expanded opportunities for the nonprofit organizations serving Schuylkill County.

Founded in 2020, NEPA Gives was created as a regional effort to combine resources and increase impact. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $6.7 million for nonprofits across the region. In 2025 alone, the 24-hour giving event attracted more than 8,000 donors and supported nearly 300 nonprofit organizations.

The event continues to grow each year, bringing more attention, more donors, and more support to the work happening every day in our communities. As that momentum builds, so does the opportunity to get involved.

For nonprofits, NEPA Gives offers one of the most cost-effective ways to raise funds, with a built-in platform, regional promotion, and minimal overhead compared to traditional fundraising efforts.

For businesses, it's a meaningful way to show your commitment to the community, align with a region-wide movement, and gain visibility across the audiences of hundreds participating nonprofits.

For donors, it's the moment your gift goes further, with matching funds and incentives helping amplify the impact of every dollar you give.
