When an electrical fire temporarily closed Pottstown Cluster today, Share Food Program responded immediately with emergency food boxes so that we could continue our scheduled food distribution and ensure our neighbors in Pottstown had access to the food they needed.

George Matysik, Executive Director of Share Food Program, and Carla Clanagan, Director of Strategic Initiatives, also joined our staff onsite to provide hands-on support. We are grateful for this partnership and for the quick, compassionate response that allowed us to continue serving our community during an unexpected disruption.

UPDATE- Due to Building 57 closure. Today and Tomorrows food distribution boxes will be held at the front porch at Building 61.

Today the food distribution will be 2:30PM-4:30PM
Tomorrows distribution will be 9:30AM-11:30AM and 1:00PM-3:00PM.

Our garden is thriving 🌱

We picked 17 POUNDS of fresh produce from our very own garden🫑🍅

The Unitarian Church of Pottstown shared these beautifully bagged and labeled, fresh picked herbs and vegetables, ready to be enjoyed by the families visiting our food pantry today. Thank you!!

What an amazing time to visit the PCRC food pantry. We are so blessed to be able to share this locally grown, fresh picked produce with our neighbors. 🍅🥒🥬🥔🫑🧅

Our Backpack Giveaway was a success, and we couldn’t have done it without the incredible support of our community!

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped make sure local students had the backpacks and school supplies they need for a successful school year. 📚✏️

The generosity shows what’s possible when a community comes together. We are so appreciative for every person who played a part in making this event special.

It’s takes a Village! 🏘️ We are honored to be able to support and be in partnership with Mission First Pottstown!

A big shout-out and heartfelt thank you to the Pottstown Cluster for being one of our main partners in ministry! 🙏❤️

Because of their incredible support, we were able to provide backpacks to families in our community just a couple of weeks ago. We are also so grateful for all the food we receive from them and, most of all, for the ongoing, complete support they continue to give to our ministry.

We truly could not do what we do without partners like the Pottstown Cluster standing alongside us. Thank you for believing in the work, supporting the mission, and helping us make a difference in our community! ❤️

‼️‼️ SNAP WEEK OF ACTION‼️‼️

This week, advocates across the country are coming together to tell Congress: Protect SNAP. Invest in SNAP. Keep families fed.

From August 17–21, is the national Week of Action to urge Congress to use every available legislative opportunity, including the Farm Bill, appropriations, and end-of-year spending legislation, to reverse the harmful SNAP cuts enacted in H.R. 1, especially the shift of SNAP costs on states.

These changes could put even more pressure on already-strained state budgets and make it harder for our community to access the food assistance they rely on daily.

SNAP supports families, farmers, grocery stores, and local economies. When SNAP is weakened, hunger INCREASES. Food banks and charitable organizations cannot fill the gap.
